Slamman
Time for a new topic I brainstormed the other day, while viewing S&M Metallica...DVD, I realized there are a few poor first track debuts that expose new and old listeners to a recording artist's work...new or old. One of those happens to be "Until it Sleeps" by Metallica, or another pet peeve track of mine..."Keep Talking" by Pink Floyd. Those are hardly strong songs to showcase a new album by. What say you? gta_king
Keep Talking does sound like an odd choice for a single but then again Division Bell isn't really very "Singles" friendly unless you count "Take It Back." That said Floyd generally arn't a singles band anyway. I'd say "It's All Coming Back To Me Now", from Meat Loafs Bat Out Of Hell 3. Fair enough the song was wrote for the guy back in the 80s but since then Pandoras Box did their version in like 89 and then Celine Dion did the more popular version, it was just a bad choice for a single because people associate it with Dion. Would have been better choosing Land Of The Pig or Future Ain't What It Used To Be. Can't really think of anything else as I never really buy singles I generally go for albums. I think they never went passed version 2. If you open VideoLAN first, you can access any disc already in the drive that way, or Nero's Showtime may work too. It's okay, I understand how temping it was. nah screw that, 'I kissed a girl' i personally thought was a catchy stroke of genious by katy perry. Very smart to combine a good theme, lesbianism, and an artist that is easy on the eyes. on topic.....pretty much anything on the old Chinese Democracy cd, most of T-Pain's newest album. thats all i can think of. I also must add as much as i hate them, the Jonas Brothers & Miley Cyrus have decent and catchy songs. La famiglia è tutto The strength of a family, like the strength of an army is in its loyalty to each other.~ Mario Puzo ~

Dude, in an interview she said she never even kissed a girl, even if she did I don't wanna hear fake pop sh*t like that. And the jonas brothers are just.....terrible, it should be a sin to consider them music.
M. H. Hunter III
did i even say she was a lesbian or even actually kissed a girl herself...no. The implied Lesbianism is what grabs attention. Even if to you it's utter sh*t. I'd rater take my 'fake pop' sh*t that i can hear all over the place. rather then what i assume is your ubber underground sh*t La famiglia è tutto The strength of a family, like the strength of an army is in its loyalty to each other.~ Mario Puzo ~

Struff Bunstridge
Coheed & Cambria have this really annoying habit of releasing all the really sugary pop tracks (with the definite exception of Welcome Home) as singles. I still love all the tracks to pieces, but they're so much better than Feathers or Blood Red Summer.

I mean it would be pretty hard to go through any Floyd album and pick out something suitable for a single
Slamman
I don't mind Keep Talking...sounds like one sentence directed at me! Actually, a co worker who was running things on my shift, he was a Floyd fan, presumably, and the opening instrumental was the thing he was adament about, but the rest of the album lost it...as far as he was concerned. I find it a very good album over all, one of the songs that only saw limited live performance was "Lost For Words", in which Gilmour openly cracks a wry joke some would say aimed at Roger Waters. Anyway, this is a tricky question in retrospect because it's hard to tell what was a single that perhaps was not a program director's choice, and the local variety of radio when considered against the Online community now. I just have always flicked on the old FM radio and I will likely continue to do so. So for me, hearing a new track that is often a single, happens by that method.
