spazmaster666
So I've been having this problem ever since I installed my Direct2Drive copy of GTA IV yesterday. Every time I try to launch the game, I get the DD3D30 error. Reading the Rockstar support site, their recommendation is to restart the system. This of course, doesn't work. Neither does uninstalling or reinstalling drivers, updating to the latest beta drivers, or uninstalling and reinstalling the game itself. Even tried deactivating Aero and changing the desktop color-depth. Anyone else having this problem? If I wasn't occupied with studying at the moment, I'd be even more pissed because I basically spent $50+tax on a game I can't even START, let alone play. I am currently using the latest nvidia drivers and directx and I also have Netframework 3.5 installed. System specs: Q6600 @ 3.2 Ghz, 8GB Corsair DDR2-1066, eVGA GTX28, Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BeavKilla
Change resolutions and see if any of them work. Had mine on 1280x1024 and after switching to 800x600 the game finally loaded. If you looked at that Fatal error list and seen that it told you to reboot it does not appear to work. That basically threw me off track because I was looking for a problem with incorrect information. Hope this helps you let me know.
Chris2342
I have exactly the same problem. A DD3D30 error everytime I load up the game. This may sound like a stupid question but I am new to this, where do you go to change the resolution and how do you do it? Please help me I really want to get my game running!!!
