GTA3Rockstar
That's pretty badass police car. I wouldn't mind having it, even with the lights on there. When will it be in use?

I'm like, how come I haven't seen any? Then I went to Reserve Yours and they had how many per annum, they had the first year as 2012. So I'm guessing by then? Scifen
Found this in the FAQ When will the E7 be available? This effort will take several years. Once the long-term governmental and financial agreements are in place, it will take us approximately 36 months to get the vehicle to full-scale production. It is also important that we take our time and do this properly in order to get you the best product at the most affordable price possible. lurchseesu420
* Aluminum spaceframe body structure I think I'd much rather have the fully boxed, heavy-gauge steel frame of a crown vic for bashing into people than that. Also, I've always wondered why police cars don't have AWD? Seems like with as much 'off-road' pursuit that they do, AWD would be a good feature. Still. A lot of the cars features a pretty cool. Dup
Looks like its based on a Honda or something. Fugly, but will probably get the job done.

Mega
Ummm 300hp diesel? Where the hell they are sourcing the engine? I mean the engineering and developement costs of that thing are probably around 10 mill. Then you have to build the plant. Then everything else. I mean... what's the deal. edit: lol, they have Savarie and some guys from startups and government. $$$$. I get it now. They have the funds every independent manufacturer would wish to have. And all that only for a police car. This is called dedication. kudos. Edited December 5, 2008 by Pavlov Signature soon.

Picolini
Looks like a shrunken down 300C to me. The biggest drawback I see for this is it stands out too much. I can recognize a Crown Vic a mile away, but I can't tell if it's a cop or not, so I slow down anyways. With this thing you'll know it's a cop for sure. Especially in the day time. The body seems unnecessarily busy as well. They should work on keeping it more generic looking and make it a stronger car to handle the abuse it'll get. Black-hawk
* Vehicle life durability specification of 250,000 miles Isn't that a little low? Especially for a police cruiser.
Miky_Z
Proton Waja? My thoughts exactly! And why did they have to blur the Ford badge in the video??Like its not obvious its a Crown Vic .... Oh I forgot the Moscow PD uses them too,so.... it must be a Lada But in all fairness its a great idea to develop a purposely designed police vehicle(although it would really hurt FoMoCo and GM by taking away their monopoly in this segment) & I have to agree with lurch, AWD wouldn't go amiss. Scifen
It would be better if you took the interior of that, and put it into this: Badass. Indeed that would be badass, but i think the entire idea behind this project is for the inner city police. The Saleen is more of a highway patrol car. imo... tuff_luv_capo
"Officer Jenkins, I understand you wanted to cut the pursuit short, but by nudging the perp's car into a spin you've set our vehicle repair budget back 1.2 million dollars." One big hint is that the Crown Vic Police Interceptors have black grilles, and the civilian versions have chrome.

You sure all are? Plenty of retired cop cars driving around here though, so it doesn't help anyways. I mainly meant from the back, or at night from the head lights and tail lights. But I'll keep an eye out for the grill as well, now.
Jay
Can't you tell by the steelies with the chrome caps on the wheels? Think of the FIB Buffalo. Is that standard on all cars or just the services?
*MURDOC*
I always see Crown Vic cruisers with chrome grilles, and sometimes painted white to match the car, but I dont see nearly as many with the black around here, moreso in NY, but thats not to say CV's are the only cruisers I see, I mean, theres a decent amount now, not counting SUVs/vans and the like, I see Impalas, CV's, Intrepids, Still a few Caprices around, and in New Hope they have freakin' Ford Focus', lol, dont see too many Chargers but theyre there, not as rarely seen as the Magnum though. I know plenty of people who own retired police cruisers, some still have the partition, most still have the spotlight, and a few are even still two-tone! Jay
dont see too many Chargers but theyre there Now that would make a brutal looking cop car. Those cars look like they're pissed off and want to run over or through anything they see.
*MURDOC*
The ones I've seen were totally black, which add to the badassittude. I think the Charger looks great as a police car, Its big, has 4-doors, and looks like it wants to f*ck you up.

Ah well atleast prisoners can never use the excuse "i didnt see him coming" unless there blind Also i have always wanted a ford crown vic, i just love the look of the car for some reason, but trying to get insured on an import at 17 would never work and im sure the 5.0+ litre engine would smash my pockets with the bloody petrol prices in england. TFatseas
Meh... I can't put my finger on it, but I just don't see this catching on. Something strikes me as off about that car. If anything I see it as being used in large urban centers. Anyways, on the topic of patrol cars. /http://www.michigan.gov/msp/0,1607,7-123--16274--,00.html Here is the Michigan State Police evaluation page of most current patrols cars nowadays. /http://www.michigan.gov/documents/msp/Intro-VehicleDynamics-MSP_VehicleEval08_Web_221476_7.pdf Here is the '08 overview of the cars. I'm curious what will happen to the Ford P71 after the Crown Victoria goes the way of the dodo bird in '09 I believe.
