Few questions about the performance at my rig..

My rig:

Intel Core2Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz

Memory: 2.00 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB

 

How is the game going to run?

I have Vista, and a lot of users said that there is a big difference between playing it at Vista and XP.. Is this really true? cuz if its real I will reformat my PC..

With 2GB of ram you might be better of in Xp, but I dunno if it will make a difference.

I would not go from Vista to Xp for this game alone, but then again I would not use VISTA at all for anything.

i agree maybe you should try in vista and if its crap you can try xp

It runs better in XP, went from Vista x64 to XP SP3.

The problems with performance is video memory leaks, thats why performance is botched - both vista and xp should handle the game just fine, although vista likes a bit more ram because it tends to have more background processes running - and all this talk about a quad core is silly unless you want to scale high end multi gpu's a bit better and free up system resources (responsiveness). A standard dual core is actually much faster than the Xbox's tri core by far... read up on the xenon cpu. I just don't want people believing that the xbox cpu actually puts out more raw performance than a core 2 duo the most common cpu in today's machines and get carried away by "more cores the better". read here if u have the patience http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/cpu/xbox360-2.ars

Well, my game runs perfectly fine. I have medium textures, highest rendering and 100 (aside from the 16 slider) on all but view distance (which is 51).

 

The only real slowdown I've had was when my PC had been running the game all day and it was only for about 30-45 seconds and only slowed down to 20fps maybe (which isn't good, but not too bad considering that's the max of most people).

The first time I ran it on Vista, then on XP. It just runs the same on both ( Intel D930 3 GHz, 2 Gigs DDR2 , 8600 GT 256 MB), I even think the benchmark on XP scored a lower average in FPS on the same settings ( 1024*768 and everything on low ).

 

Edit: I'm not at home right now, but if I'll have time later I'll post the benchmarks ( PS: both XP and Vista are 32 bit )
