notsofrisk
I know that this has been said before, and believe me I have tried it many MANY times. The delete drivers, go to safe mode and so on blah blah... Well. I tried it and it did not work at all so I gave up for a while. Just for the hell of it I tried this. Just to mention, I am a Nvidia user. And I had ALL textures missing before, like many of you other guys... I rolled from 180.70 back to latest official 180.48. Rightclicked on the desktop and opened Nvidia controlpanel. On the Global settings screen I clicked on reset or whatever it is called, to set all the settings back to original. Opened the delete/add programs from the XP control panel. Deleted Nvidia drivers and Nvidia controlcenter(or something like that) I still had nvidia files for Photoshop in there because it has nothing to do with any drivers, so if you to have that, leave it in. Rebooted in normal mode. used driver sweeper, and this time for some odd reason it did not tell me that some files could not be deleted. without rebooting I installed the 180.70 forceware. Reboot in normal mode again. clicked to run the game and bang... I was actually a bit dissapointed, as I have tried the normal solution before, but NOT like this, wich is the easy way really. NO SAFEMODE or anything. the other thing that dissapointed me was that I am not sure how it worked this time, I was hoping that I could help more people by finding a solution for some to use, but I am sorry, i can only tell what I have written here. I hope maybe some more people will get it to work before they release a patch, who knows when that might be...... The game runs fine for me now, medium to high settings 1280x1024. Dunno `bout FPS since I played and did not run Fraps or Bench, but they seems fine and playable. No texture missing or loading glitches anymore.
