Cyc2u
My system isnt no slouch. Its not top of the line but its no dino either. WinXP SP3 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 2048 Ram The game is on medium settings at 1024x768 and i brought view distance down to 20%. Fraps tells me Im getting a whopping 20-25 Frames Per Second on average. In Crysis i get 60-70+ FPS. In CoD 5 i get 90-100+ FPS. In Tomb Raider Underworld I get 90-150+ FPS
Z28Crash
Try running 1280 x 1024. For me, it seems to run smoother than 1024 x 768. I am getting 25-35 average now. Before that I was getting 15-25. Not sure why it runs better in 1280 x 1024, but whatever works, gotta use it!
Gutslab
~12, all settings low and 800x600 still need to tweak some things, hoping for a few more fps
Vicetopia
I can usually ignore my bad fps while driving, running, etc. But as soon as I turn on my crosshair and start aiming, that's when I notice it.
Knyte
I sit at 30-45, 1280x1024, haven't tweak anything and have all the graphic setting where they were when I first installed the game. Other than I turned the shadows to 0. Specs in my sig.
semie
15-25 fps Amd Athlon 64 X2 4200+ @ 2.2Ghz 7900GS 512mb 2gig ram 800 X 600 sob sob low med 13 draw distance 1 detail 45 traffic 0 shadows though I am having graphics issues at 800X600 so I swap to 1024 x 768 60Hz to fix the issues and swap back again...otherwise I'm down to like 8-12 fps. Graphics issues are textures not appearing/dissapearing, particles at times appear to be black planes not particlse ie rain, smoke, steam. But its playable...just
Dreakon
Lowest i've seen my fps is like 5-8, highest I've seen it would be around 20. I'd say mine is 12-13 fps on average. All settings the lowest, except the resolution, which is 1280x1024. This is just while running/driving around, being chased by a few police cars, etc. Huge gunfights and multiplayer I'm sure would take it to a screeching halt. Specs: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Pentium 4 3.4ghz 2gb RAM Radeon HD 2600XT 512mb
fcam1387
Forgive me for the dumb question, but where/how can you measure FPS in the program?

Breadman86
AMD X2 3800+ GeForce 8800GT 2gb RAM Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Windows XP SP3 All settings are as low as they can possibly go. AVG FPS: 17 according to the benchmark. So much worse in-game. The YouGamers test says I should be able to run it well. The default graphics settings that the game gives me are way higher than everything low, and has everything in green saying it should run well. Far Cry 2 gets 40-60fps on High Crysis gets 30-40fps on Medium/High Fallout 3 gets 50-60fps on High Even with graphics up high this game doesn't look good as good as those above, yet on high (heaven forbid I play it above low), it gets less than 2pfs. I really really don't want to return it. I've been dieing for this for months, even before it came out on the 360. I refuse to buy an xbox 360 and it is NOT time to upgrade my PC. I just got a the new video card last spring for god sakes.
Zav_
I have an amd 5000+ with 2gig 667 ram and an 8800gts 320mb overclocked, and i get better performance with higher settings.Trouble is i cant get that stupid norestrictions thing to work, so it limits my draw distance to 1 just so i can have high res and medium graphics settings. TruXter
ok, I just gained a few fps. I checked my monitor's manual, and found that not only is the native resolution 1280/1074 (knew that part) but native frequency is 70 hertz I set it at 70 hertz and BAM game plays fine. Even though I read somewhere that 60 was common with lcd. I still bumped it to 72 because 70 made fonts look funny in teh forums and 72 seemed to smooth them back out. So I changed it in nvidia control panel and in gta video settings. I promise. I had to have gained atleast 7 fps. Maybe I should bench it and see for myself. notsofrisk
About these "new" no.load games streaming graphics stuff. There is a problem still on how to make these games work really good on PC`s. If you have played TestDriveUnlimited or Unfinished as I like to call it, you will know what I mean. And since they both seems to have been designed for Console(wich is easier since every console has the same specs) it makes it a bit tougher on PC since not even ONE pc will be the same as the other, even with same system and specs....... Thats why you will get such difference in FPS even if you have the same PC as your neighbour. Well that and other things of course... Defrag HD and so on blah blah. Chronine
Forgive me for the dumb question, but where/how can you measure FPS in the program? You can monitor your FPS by a number of ways.. The most common way is using Fraps ... You can grab a copy here Click>Fraps<Click
wootface1
GTA IV is the lulz. A few hours ago I was playing multiplayer and for a solid minute I was getting between 10-16 fps 2.2GHz Core 2 XP SP3 2GB Ram 8600GT 800*600 Low Low 1 1 1 0 If thats not a joke I don't know what is. Perhaps they should have added 640*480 and 320*240.
gwalker
About 25fps, after unlocking stupid GFX restrictions, I totaly maxed out every one of the graphics settings.
chesss
@Breadman86 have you tried overclocking your proccy? If its a brisbane(65W TDP) you can easily overclock it...
