StealMySoda
Okay so. I was running at 800x600. All settings at minimum. Textures weren't loading fast enough, so I ended up flying in the middle of nowhere, no idea where the road was. I was also getting varying FPS and some stuttering when it popped down to 14 or so. It seems to be a lot more steady, though I haven't ran it with fraps yet to see what the actual fps is. My system. 1.83ghz dual core. nVidia 8400m GS w/128mb. Before we begin, I know, its hardly the best computer. But hey it just about meets the min specs. First I started off on Nvidia control panel. Using the custom 3d settings, I'm used these settings: http://www.stealmysoda.com/s/gta/nvid.gif Then, making sure that Rockstar Social is already up and running (very important), and logged in, created a shortcut on my desktop for LaunchGTA.exe. Right click properties, and add the command lines to the launch. -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -minspecaudio http://www.stealmysoda.com/s/gta/launch.gif Edit: sorry the | is my typing thing. Not a character Now, rather than leaving it at a bare minimum, I increased the view distance and detail distance slightly. I think I set mine on 20, and suffered very little performance decrease, with detail distance on 5. Set it to the correct ratio of 4:3. Now I can zip through town without having to worry too much about the road not loading ahead of me. I was able to run in 1024x768, but that left me with slower loading textures, and more often (but less rarely than before) ended up with no road). Maybe this will just work for me, but it helped me a lot. Hopefully it can help you guys running on the 'bareminimum' in some way shape or form. Good luck. StealMySoda
wow u ran it with 128 mb of video memory O_ohow's the FPS? Running about 25 fps, during the day. Probably around 18 w/rain. And 22 or so at night. Think my biggest bottle neck is the CPU as I can increase view distance upto 50 and still play with the same FPS I would have with it at 1. Gutslab
StealMySoda, do you run the shortcut right? Or press play from social club after making the shortcut property change??
StealMySoda
StealMySoda, do you run the shortcut right? Or press play from social club after making the shortcut property change?? 1. Using a SHORTCUT, to the Launchgtaiv.exe, run the game. Rockstar social will pop up. Click login and play. Once game opens, close it again. 2. Run again using the shortcut, with the parameters applied and it shouldn't pop up with rockstar social again and should go straight into the game, using the parameters.
