-Better frame rate

-No more memory leaks

-Better use of system resources

-SLI support

-Anti-Aliasing

-Better shadows

-Controller support

-Key sensitivity options (so that cars don't drive like tankers)

-Full button customization

In that order pretty much.

I like it how you call it, "the patch", as if one is definately coming. No one knows that for certain, and even if there is one, they wont read forums and care what any of us think! I'm not trying to be negative about the situation, just realistic.

By the way, I have a single core processor and it runs perfectly, but only with priority change.

Ah, a Wishful Thinking thread. Those are fun. I'll play along.

  • Add the ability to map L.Alt and extra mouse buttons;
  • Add anti-aliasing support;
  • Add modding support (currently, any modification causes SecROM to barf and refuse to load the game; fine, restrict MP, but for single-player mode, come on...).

I'm sure I'll come of with a lot more as I go, but those are the three on my mind ATM.

Cool, go off and play the game then biggrin.gif

Yes, fix the lags here. It looks to me that my visual settings are even worse than San Andreas, with ~11 FPS.

Well, I thought I couldn't run GTA IV on 1280*800 or 1024*768, but not the 800*480 with all the options on low and still having lags!

We certainly need a lagfix + more flexibility (possibility to turn on AA, or turn off those nasty shader 3.0 effects)

If I could run GTA IV stable (at least) on 1024*768 with normal settings without lags...

So... it's realistic to think that a company (no matter who) wouldn't release a patch to fix a game that they could possibly get sued for? Alright.

Anti-Aliasing Options

Unlock Graphics Settings

Fix Memory Leaks

Better Shadows (No Longer Grainy)

Better CPU/GPU Optimization

SLI Support

Texture Glitch (Not Appearing)

Personally all I would like is the SLI support, since the game is running fine, but the other issues are pretty widespread and would be surprised if the bottom 5 weren't fixed within 2 patch updates.

Maybe it's my specs, but I hate when I'm standing in front of a building and as I move the camera around the LOD appears to load. I'm right in front of the building, that's stupid. (But this only happens on the odd building/road, not all)

Specs:

AMD Phenom 9550 QC @ 2.20GHz

EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb

3gigs RAM (dunno how to check the speed)

Windows Vista 32-bit w/ SP1

Fix it please smile.gif

this thread could grow big and be of use but people need to stop repeating what the last guy said, so please stop with the AA, "more fps" and "no gfx bugs".

imo this should be used more as a bug report thread than a wishlist one, i intended to create such topic myself but someones already done it, i just hope the initial poster would update his first post and make a full list of fix/feature requests that have been made.

2 things that i think havent been said yet:

-add more mp server filters, is stuff like ping not relevant these days?

-let players control the GFX setting for things like shadows, reflections etc, so that each seperately can be adjusted and even disabled, to improve game performance for example.

true. it'd probably be a good idea if we compiled all of these faults into a single list and e-mail it directly to R*.

Maybe it's me, I've quickly skimmed through the thread and I didn't see anyone having issues with the LODs popping up after the model and textures have loaded fine.

I see textures not loading at all, but that's different.

I would say:

-better engine sounds and better sounds when crashing (this has always been poor in the GTA games)

-camera should aim faster in the direction you're driving in, when steering with keyboard

Give me the option to REMOVE all shadows. No shadows = huge performance boost. Ten bucks says if they make the shadows not look like sh*t, it will lower performance even more.

OK

1 - Fix the graphics problems

2 - Improve CPU usage

3 - Give US control over whether we want shadows/bloom

I would be happy if they gave us the same shadows as in the console version. Anything is better than the ms paint shadows we have now and possibly with higher performance.

I want them to fix the mapping of mouse and keyboard buttons. Let us play the game like we want to!!!

-further optimization needed. A recommended spec PC should be able to run the game at 35-40fps at medium settings. At the moment only Quadcore CPU / top of the range videocard confiurations can run the game with good enough framerates. It's not acceptable: recommended spec. PCs works now as a minimum requirement.

-option to completely disable those grainy shadows

-include AA/AF options. Must have at the end of 2008. It's a standard feature in games for 6-8 years.

-optional driving view: chase cam, which is locked onto the car, and turns with the car in corners

-remove this Windows Live crap! Windows Live registration needed to save offline singleplayer game? Most annoying game feature of the last 5 years.
