reassor Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 I don't have any problems with climbing into chopper, but my camera freezes - so I crash into buildings.Also, I think it's impossible to complete the mission without cheating... got the same exact crap i guess its coz of all that space taping once i even got it ok for a while and then it froze (camera) and i lost the bugger. extremly annoyng Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hp_quad Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 I won the last mission, when I was in the chopper the camera was like looking at the back of the helicopter, so what I did is looking at the red cercle in the little cercle and try following it like this, pretty easy. The only thing I recommend is trying to follow him by the little map. And for getting under the chopper, I think it's because, when there's too much waves, the boat slows down. I passed the final REVENGE at the first attempt, and the final DEAL at the second attempt (I died while shooting in the casino or whatever that building in the end is xD). I had no problems getting in the chopper, nor following Dimitri / Pegorino. It's true that after you enter the chopper the camera is not alright, it looks like it is locked in the nose. But using the middle mouse button I can turn the camera where I want. Then it's just a quick pursuit... the cut-scene triggers and there you go, ready to kill whoever you choose. Anybody knows how to fix it, or how to disable mouse flying? I have that weird problem as well. It's really annoying and it makes it impossible to complete the mission. no_pulse Posted January 9, 2009 Share Posted January 9, 2009 I totally agree that this mission is the worst scripted mission throughout the game. It took me a total of 4 retries until I completed the mission. The first time I failed was because I couldn't catch up to Little Jacobs chopper. And the other 2 times I failed was because Dimitri got away. When you're in the boat just gun it! As others have suggested, don't bother try to shoot Dimitri's chopper. You won't hit it enough to make it crash. Its not scripted that way. Also don't stop and use the RPG, again even if you manage to hit it, it won't shoot it down. Its not scripted to go down until you are near Liberty Island. I had no trouble getting into the chopper. I just kept hitting the space bar rapidly. But I had the same problem as others. As soon as got into the chopper a building was right infront of me. What I did was climbed high enough to clear the building and then pointed the nose of the chopper down to gain speed to follow Dimitri. As someone suggested, you don't have fly in between the buildings, you can climb super high and avoid all the buildings but make sure you are following Dimitri. And don't worry about shooting him with the miniguns on the chopper. Just focus on following him. The game is scripted that once you are at Liberty Island, both you and Dimitri will crash and you chase after him on foot. The camera view is what pissed me off with this mission. Pain in the ass to maneuver the chopper when the camera view was fixed. Had to use the cinematic view to follow Dimitri. I wish rockstar would script missions like this one, so that if you are falling behind, the enemy just sits and waits for you to catch up like other missions. Flying a chopping with the keyboard and mouse was a pain in the ass. Glad their were only a couple of missions with choppers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But after this mission there's no missions to do it. Only hangs out with other friends,race with cars,do some jobs for little jacobs. But i have only 62% of the game. I don't know what to do. captvimes Posted January 19, 2009 Share Posted January 19, 2009 I had a lot of the same issues others have here except luckily the space bar problem because i had already remapped all my keys. A few tips for the boat part. If you get in the back of the boat too quickly you will get a rocket in the face...end mission. If you want to be able to give yourself a little more time and get in quickly climb up the front of it niko will walk into the cockpit when you hit the vehicle key again. Getting in and away quickly can also have its problems. IF you do, make sure you dont follow the helicopter because it will drag you out on a course that put you too far away from Jacob when he arrives. Follow the coast around and Dimitri will curve back till he is ahead of you again. Dont go too close to the coast or you will possibly hit the wooden jetty posts. Drive between the two rocks try and keep it straight at this point and dont go too much left or right you you will find yourself in the path of the scripted rockets again, if you are in the right place they will go either side of you. Once Jacob appears in the heli and the yellow marker appears head a bit in front of the yellow marker as it will move up a bit before you get there. Dont ever slow down and you should make it pretty easily, if you drive the right path you have more time than you would think, ive walked off the boat by accident and got back in and still made it once I knew which path to take. I agree its a very poorly done mission and it being one of the finale's is unforgivable really. The camera issue with the helicopter is an absolute joke. While chasing on the boat, try to avoid drive on the right of Dimtri's heli because the guy who has rocket launcher is on that side! 3. Don't drive DIRECTLY to Jacob's heli! Your boat will hit his tail and Jacob will fly away...(I think the script had a bug on this) Drive to his side instead. 4. Odd camera problem: I think the script keeps Dimitri's heli always in sight. To solve this, switch to 1st person view. 5. Remap the heli control to fit your practice. 6. Don't follow Dimitri. Just fly high to avoid building would work. Dimitri's heli will be hit by Jacob eventually(although you never see any shooting... 7. After touching ground, again, don't follow Dimitri. Go to the garden on your right should avoid most shots. I finally got by the final mission... the first time i successfully did the heli chase, i got shot by the cops after landing and was cursing up a storm... then I revisited the post and stayed to the right as suggested.
