belic1k Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 In the final mission on the deal option, you 're suppose to line your boat up under Jacob's chopper, but I can never seem to get enough speed up to get to it in time as his chopper speeds up at the same time Dimitri's chopper does. Jack Bauer GB Posted December 9, 2008 Share Posted December 9, 2008 Just go hell fo leather in the boat. don't worry about trying to shoot Rascalov's chopper, you won't shoot it down with your smg. when you see Jacob just get to him quick as you can. You don't need to stop under him (like I thought you'd have to ) just go full pelt at him. Then when you're in the chopper it says stay low but I didnt bother, I went high so I could keep an eye on Rascalov's chopper. Don't worry if you get hit by an RPG. I can get into the helicopter ok but when its time for me to take control im heading towards a building with impact in 2 seconds. So i have to slow down to avoid colliding with it and turn away but by the time i can start going forward it says "you lost dimitri". Im wondering, if i keep unloading with my mg into Dimitris helicopter as i drive the boat can i down it before it gets to the point where i have to hop in another one? I have tried it slow and fast and every other damn way I can think off. As you can imagine this is seriously starting to piss me off. Other times you go just as fast and you cannot reach it. Once i made it to the chopper and Dimitris chopper hit it with a rocket. When i make it to the choppper safely i begin taking control with a building directly in front of me with no way to avoid hitting it and the blades fall off and i crash. Once i made it passed the buildings and it said "dimitri got away" and another time i didnt crash after hitting the building but i couldnt move my mouse to look around and Dimitri headed the opposite way that i was stuck looking in. By the time my chopper turned he got away. This is the worst mission in GTA history. Why would they design a game with choppers and not have joystick control? SA had it. Did they forget how to code it in or something? Trying to fly a helicopter with a keyboard.... F***ing GAY! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And my PC seems to act differently from the videos of this mission ive seen on youtube. When i start out controlling the heli, im like 2 feet from a huge skyscraper everytime. *smash* the blades fall off and i crash in the streets. wtf.... No way to avoid it at all. I think its because it takes me forever to get into the heli. Im spamming my jump button like a humping rabbit but by the time im inside, the building is right there in my face. I had to go way back and do them over. My last save was from when i first met the old dying mob boss in the hospital. Did all his over and Pegarinos over again from the strip club. Why the hell they would shove a console mechanism in this PC game is beyond me. wau, i couldn't think of it but we have something in common: pressing this stupid space key only changes the camera view for niko. what ever i tried, resetting my custom key mapping, pressing every button who could do it maybe too...nothing! the real name of this mission is not in mourning, it's actually ground zero. i think i already gave up.... @op:if you have the pc version than just press the W key (forward) and nothing else. hope this helps. I followed heli by looking onto radar, flying only with keyboard. I gained as much altitude as I could to avoid any buildings and I completly ignored shooting. It worked! Although I crashed into some high building (probalby GetaLife) a cutscene triggered on with Dimitri shot by Little Jacob (I didnt't see any shooting!) and landing next to the Statue of Happiness Little advice: (you don't have to read spoilers!) -Don't bother with shooting to early or the police will start shooting at you. -Little health? If I wait to dodge the missile, I'm too far behind to get in jacob's chopper. To make it worse, the mission starts with a 5 minute version of the OJ chase... BOOOORRRIIIINNNGGGG! Same problem here Charlie..... did you ever figure this out? Im going to try remapping whatever SPACEBAR is to a different key (after my TEMPER simmers down, took me 6 tries to FINALLY even get to LJ's chopper!!) ...maybe that will help. I can get in the chopper, but both times (my 6th and 7th attempt at this sh*tty mission) but both times take niko like 10 seconds, and by the time I get in the chopper it says "Dimitri got away"....WTF R*? I remmaped ALL keys that said SPACEBAR to the tab key (to get in heli). It still seemed to take awhile to get in...but maybe not as long (I think). I still think there is a bug where Dimitri's heli keeps flying and yours doesnt..hence he gets away REAL easy. I had this problem with camera too and had to redo this mission about 10 times just becase of the camera view - but then i figured out that the camera by default is fixed in the "sky view" - i changed it and made the mission with no problem. However I was flying on the ceiling, so I had no chance of crashing. So my tip is to head straight to the ceiling as soon as you get in the chopper. DOAM Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Well I've managed to get it so that I make the 1st missile miss while I'm getting into the boat, while still being fast enough to get in the boat so that I'm not too far behind not be able to get on jacobs chopper. Of course, now, I'm getting shot out of the sky with a missile before I can finish tapping spaecbar to get on the chopper! Do I want to load the mission a 26th time, and do that god aweful boring chase, followed by a predictable gun fight that's way too easy and, now, way too boring... so that I can try to jump on a chopper? All along having the risk of screwing up even the slightest, thus causing me to fail and have to start all over again... Or do I want to to watch TV and daydream about how AWESOME it would be to beat the crap out of the idiots who made this POS port? I pick TV and daydreaming. The games uninstalling now, and if it's easy enough to do, my acct here's dropping too (not that this site is anything but awesome... just no need for it w/o GTA).
