foxfire29
Hi this is a shot in the dark that anything can fix the issues ive had with D2D but I figured I will ask anyway. Ok so this is my 3rd attempt at downloading the 13GB file from D2D, the first time I was gutted because I downloaded the whole 13gb and d2d download manager didnt flag it as an error, so I goes to install , first it extracts via winrar and "wham!" on data5.cab it says file corrupt Anyway I was totally gutted so I downloaded again and with a mere 20 mins left to go one of my family came past went on the PC and then restarted the thing not noticing download manager was running, anyway I figured Okay this is D2D the file will resume where it left off, unfortunately that assumption was wrong , so this is the dam third time downloading a 13gb file and why they didnt split it I will never know but anyway I have the full version with that one corrupt cab file, is there any way I can get the d2d download manager to just download cab5? BTW If anyones thinking of going and buying this of D2D I wouldnt bother as they have clearly capped the speeds to what they were in the past, I have a 20MB connection and its sitting at 372 to 560KB so like 512k broadband speeds, also get this when you first start to download it comes down at about 1.7MB for about the first 1GB so you think well it aint rocket speed but at least I will get it in two to three hours but after the first 1GB or so it slows to fixed 512kB Total rubbish speeds and I can get full bandwith in other places Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks all Ive sent them a ticket but they will not answer for 3 days knowing full well I will have it done by then or at least have a goodd chance of having it done
ulyhappy
You know I have the exact same problem with Direct2Drive. Speeds were shocking and it took over 24 hours to download with the speed going up and down up and down. I ALSO have the problem with a corrupt data5.cab file. It gets most of the way through the install then asks for another disc. Did you ever get yours fixed? I'm trying a few programs that claim to repair corrupt zips. I'm refusing to download the whole thing again because we have some nonsense download limit here and so far, Direct2Drive haven't responded to my ticket. My first experience with Direct2Drive and definitely my last.
ulyhappy
If anyone else encounters this problem, use WinZip to extract the files and not WinRar.
