How do you get in a cab?

Okay, so once you have hailed a cab and he's stopped, how do you actually get in the cab?

 

Pressing F doesn't work because then you just end up jacking the cab. I tried pressing Enter, but that didn't work. I looked in the Gameplay forum, and for the XBox you press and hold down the triangle, so since I'm on a PC, I tried holding down the E key (same key used to hail it), but that didn't work either.

when you see one hit your action key and you'll whistle, then hold whatever key it says to get in the cab as a passenger

Press and hold F button.

Same thing happened to me fellow GTA fan

And all in good spirit with no intended harm, it's coz we r both idiots

 

See it says press E to hail cab, we press it and great.

But then it says Hold F and what do we do? We just press it.

 

So ya that's all it is. If u press F quick yes it's gonna highjack him. But hold down F just a tad bit longer and there we go friend

Ah, well, you see, the game never gave me the message to press and hold F, only "Press E to Hail" followed by "A cab has been hailed":

 

 

Since the above messages, I've hailed and stood next to five different cabs now, and still no message.

 

Anyway, I'll go give it a shot, and if it still doesn't work (I'm pretty sure I already tried that), I'll just assume this quest is broken and reload.
