False Disc error

Is anyone else getting the occasional error where upon starting the game it tells you to place the original disc in the drive, even though it is already.

 

I have had to unload legitimate software that I require for work to get around this securom bullsh*t and even though daemon tools is not running, I still occasionally get this error and only a reboot will resolve it.

 

Sick of this crap copy protection that does nothing but inconvenience the very people who PAY FOR THE F*CKING GAME. How dare they dictate to me what software I can have on MY SYSTEM.

 

From now on, I will source any game that insists on using securom from other sources that won't inconvenience me.

I don't think anyone really appreciates having to be logged into two different services to experience all the advertised features in the game in an effort to thwart piracy either. Just about all you can do is make it take longer to fully rip out the protection, not make it impossible. I'd bet dollars to pennies that given 2 years I will be getting my single player GTA IV experience from an cracked copy, and hopefully one that will let me make modifications to the game files (as has always been a joy with GTA since the very earliest days) without throwing a conniption fit.
