willhub
So anyone have any idea on this crashing problem with this controller mod? edit the xbox360cemu.ini file and change 'UseForceFeedback=1' to 0 This solved the crashing issues I had with a ps2 on a usb adapter. On a side note just registered here to say thx for this lovely little piece of work. Thanks I'll try that Just wondering anyone got a Saitek P880 and using it fine? I'd like to be able to use the analogue stick for accelerating, not pressing it but using it the usual way for gradual acceleration. Hondara
Btw, is there a similar fix for the mouse? both left thumbbuttons of my logitechmouse aren't working in gta4.
devilsadvocate
But how can I use my Logtiech G-25 steering wheel? It does work fine with xpadder, but the only problem is that the only way to steer is 100% left or right, but nothing between. The result is, that it is very hard to steer and makes no fun. is there a possibility to sensitize the steering with xpadder or any other program? catzilla
If the wheel utilizes directinput - it shouldn't be a problem. Assign the wheel itself to the left analog stick's X axis and it should work perfectly. Assign pedals such that right trigger = right pedal left trigger = left pedal
devilsadvocate
Unfortunately it didn't work out. it goes either 100% to the left or to the right, not to mention the big "dead zone" you first have to hurdle. I enabled "stick 1" and put "axis X" to the symbol "left/right arrows". the other "up/down row" is blank. The triggers with the pedals worked fine! any solutions, how to get the steering more sensitive, instead of alyways 100% to the left or right? infidel77
I managed to get most of the PS3 controller controls working just like the PS3 version but I still to know how to make the game recognize R2 and L2 as triggers and not mere buttons. I want to be able to adjust the gas/break? Anyone know how?
catzilla
Read the readme already. It tell you how to make it recognize triggers.
Silencer1981
YOU F**CKKKING ASSHOLE ! Got a vista "Application Crash" whenver I would run the game and hit something with my car. Never for once thought it had to do with the controller mod (installed it right away when I realized controller didn't work) I have been trying to figure out the problem for 3 days.. Calling support, waiting for patch, installing new drivers.... it was all because of the rumble option in the .ini .,. I forgive you though... you may now sleep easy. Maybe I needed to spell out sarcasm for you in that post... But whatever, don't come at me with that NOOB bs .... I didn't connect the two because A) i installed the mod before even playing and (therefore didn't have a comparison run), who the hell would think enabling a controller would cause a game to crash after 5 mins of play? B) all of these people complaining of crashing on the forums (which I have been reading for days) . Yes it was stupid of me to not put two&two together, hence the sarcasm in my post. I can admit my stupidity but it was an honest mistake.... with the amount of people talking about crashes and BSODS here I immediatly assumed it was the game.. At any rate.. its fixed now... I too was ready to come in here screaming blue murder about how the game was fubared till I realised it was my own stupid fault with the controller emu P.S. Maybe the OP can add a note with regards to the rumble/crash issue at the start of this thread Edited December 11, 2008 by toidi
heliognr
I am also having the freeze and crash each time I hit something with a car... is it related to the UseForceFeedback=1 ? I dont use the vibrating controls... should I put this value UseForceFeedback=0 ? Thank you
catzilla
Yes, you should. Apparently, your controllers are not compatible with the rumble used in this dll. So turn it off.
Jackie78
Hi, this doesn't work for me, simply because there is no xinput1_3.dll in my GTA4 folder, so I have copied the files from the emulator anyway, but my rumblepad doesn't work. Does anybody have a clue why the xinput-file is not present?

Does anybody have a clue why the xinput-file is not present? What are you talking about? The guide clearly states what to do: 1) Download the following archive.2) Unpack the xinput9_1_0.dll and the xbox360cemu.ini from the archive into your gta4 dir. 3) Edit the .ini according to your personal controller, or however you may please. The .ini is initially set up to work 100% correctly with Logitech RumblePad 2.

jesushumper
god damn.. Racer_S to the rescue, once again. thanks, guys. Pixelated
My first post must have been missed so just to ask again. Has anyone been able to get this working with any other Games For Windows Live titles? Mainly Fallout 3. Or is this hack just for GTA: IV? Thanks. catzilla
Very good question. 1) It should work. I tried it with Bully and it doesn't. I'm not sure that Bully supports even 360 controller, though. 2) Why don't you try and find out? Edited December 12, 2008 by catzilla
Pixelated
Does anyone know if these .dll's will work with other Games For Windows titles? I tried with Fallout 3 (the only other GFWL game I own) but it kept crashing every time I would load it up. Replacing the backup .dll's resolved the crashes. Is there something I'm missing here? I figured this would work for any GFWL game. Thanks. Very good question.1) It should work. I tried it with Bully and it doesn't. I'm not sure that Bully supports even 360 controller, though. 2) Why don't you try and find out? I did but my first post wasn't answered. Fallout 3 crashes when I try to load a save or even start a new game. GTA:IV and Fallout 3 are the only GFWL titles I own otherwise I would try another game. gtakrag
Does anyone get it work with a steering wheel? Can't believe that no one else wants to play with it?! Still have problems with the x-axis, to get it more sensitive than 100% right or left. I have the Logitech G25 racing wheel but without direct support, the X axis control is terrible. The game is playable with the wheel and my current X axis properties look something like this: sensitivity: 25% deadzone: 10% range: 90% degrees of rotation: 200 At lower speeds the control is spastic, but works moderately well at higher speeds. I am hoping that the patch will correct this by using DirectInput. I looked into Xpadder, but I could not find a way to set more precisie control for this axis. If you're interested, I found a petition to add G25 support to the game: http://www.petitiononline.com/GTA4G25/petition.html

loizoskounios
Hello guys. I'm new to the site. I've read that many people had problems with their wireless X360 controllers not being trigger sensitive and whatnot. Well, I've got the Logitech ChillStream Wired X360 Controller and even though the buttons were mapped automatically (because all the games recognize it as a normal 360 controller) the triggers are not trigger sensitive. For your information, I tried using Xpadder and there are still no results. Could anyone shed some light?
