mva5580
I guess listing system specs is a good way to start. - amd quad core 9600 - 4gb ddr2 800 - ati 4850 512mb And what settings I have the game at: - 1920 x 1080 - Medium on both quality settings - 20/20/15/5 for the numbered settings I don't get any crashes, no textures missing, things like that. Only issue I have with those particular things is that sometimes the game seems to draw in buildings/objects late. If I'm on foot and I turn around, a building that was there before will take a few seconds to show up again. It doesn't always happen, it seems random. But it loads very quickly and doesn't really mess up the experience too much. Frame rate isn't too great, but the game is still playable. I ran the benchmark but I can't remember right now exactly what it said. Somewhere in the mid 20's maybe? I'm certainly not going to fly off the deep end like so many people do on the internet, because it's just ridiculous. It serves no purpose and totally defeats the purpose of making a point. I can't respect someone that puts their opinions across in a childish, immature way. There are definitely issues that need to get worked out in a patch, driver update, whatever. And from the sound of it CPU usage is the problem, so a patch may be our only hope at getting a real increase in performance. A 10fps gain would do wonders for the experience, and hopefully R* can give that to us. I'm just having a hard time figuring out how this game got from IGN's preview where they claim to speed through the city at 2560 x 1600 resolution with the game running smooth, to this. And it's not like the PC they ran it on was anything too unbelievable. I've messed around with some of the tweaks people on here recommend, and I don't really notice anything that is worth sticking with. Slight improvements maybe, but patches and drivers are the only way out of this one I think. And I don't know what to think of R* argument that a lot of the settings in the game are meant for future machines. Do they expect this to be the best selling game of 2010? Why not make a game that we can play smoothly now? I mean my PC is no slouch, I don't feel I'm being too demanding when I say my PC's specs should be able to smoothly handle anything on the market. Let's just hope that whatever R* releases, it's a quality patch that does a good job of addressing the issues. Because the game, even at the settings I'm using, looks GREAT. I would just like it to be a little smoother.
