Girish
The hierarchy of Vista is pretty f*cked up. Try reinstalling the game onto a different drive or location, like My Documents? Also, run the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode.

radioman
That error can can up(On Vista anyway), if you try to run the game in 98 compatibility mode.-I know, I had the same problem when I was trying to play GTA 3 and VC on my old Vista laptop.-I realized it would not work on mine, because of my graphics card-it was a VIA one. Use xp compatibilty mode or none at all, and the game should be fine-I play the game on a Vista desktop (without compatibility mode), and it works great, except for the mouse freezes every now and then. Also, do you have up to date drivers for your video card, sound card, etc.-Vista tends to be a little picky about having all up to date drivers? Hope this helps.
