LadyTasera
I don't understand how we're supposed to use these commands. Where do I enter them?
slowrider
you edit the desktop shortcut to the program via right-click. find the target box and tag these onto the very end, outside the speech marks.

pinky
Anyone care to enlighten me on how to open the command console? The usual key ( the one below esc) appears to do nothing. Do I enter the commands into the DOS window running in the background? Edited December 4, 2008 by pinky

PestilenceJM
I have read in a post that it is possible to use those command lines. But the person had not mentioned how.
shat_kat
That only applied to quake engine games and source games pinky, they are the obvious ones anyway, serious sam used that, and UT did, but it was a different key, not all games, especially console ports, have command consoles. camdean
This was in another post. I had problems running these commands and some people didn't .. You go into your rockstar directory, right click on LaunchgtaIV and make a shortcut, then right click on the shortcut and select properties .. In the target box you add the commands at the end, after the "" marks, like so .. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -nomemrestrict There is a space bewteen the " and - Malik this doesn't change my opinion of you, this is copied from another thread. Badmagic
Couldn't get the "-norestrictions" to work as listed in the readme file at all no matter what I did and the game was fairly laggy for me, I then read a random goggle search that its a typo. Readme doesn't work = -norestrictions What actually worked = -norestriction Note the lack of the S at the end, the difference was immediately apparent and I was even able to bump up most of the settings after using it while retaining a less laggy playing experience. Like I said, I didn't discover this but saw it through random googling where someone else must have figured it out.
Gottex
donno how but it worked, all I did is looked through D:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\ReadMe.txt ... found the line -norestrictions: Do not limit graphics settings, then went to shortcut properties, "D:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions , logged in Social Club and finally now I'm able to set anything I want
