PS3 Internet problems

Hey can anyone help me with my PS3 i bought it a few weeks ago now and its a snow day so college is called off so i decided to try set my PS3 up finally anyway everythings fine with it but its jsut the internet i keep getting the internet connection IP address error i've looked around for solutions but there just too complicated to sort out and its difficult to find the specs for some of the stuff. The Wifi on the PS3 works it just doesn;t seem to like my router for some reason it can read the routers but it just seems to have a big paddy about getting an IP address. Its the 801030D error or somthing like that.

When ever you go to offer an error message, or code in this case, we need the exact message/code not "or something like that".

As far as getting an IP address, and since you were so vague about the problem, it sounds like that while yes the PS3 can see the router you make no mention of it being able to connect or logon to the router. You also said you're in a college, it might able be that even if you can get the PS3 to connect to your router the school may have something in place that blocks game consoles, among many other things, from being able to get online.
