DJ24966
That Rockstar was so worried about piracy they spent all their time trying to prevent it, instead of fixing the game full of bugs and errors. When you change graphic settings, and the performance is not changed at all, it makes you think. I mean, I can turn everything on low, or high, and get the same crap performance either way. Apparently they forgot how to test games, or really just didn't care. The game will eventually get pirated, and they will get around all of R*'s little preventions in game. Next time, worry about making a decent game, and maybe the ones who download the game will actually appreciate the work and buy the game. I feel like I just spent my hard earned money on a drink coaster. It has been nothing but head aches from the start.

dezontk
Totally agree. Could possibly be expected on legacy-like hardware but seen as most of us have dual/quad cpus and mid/high end gpus its just a joke!
DJ24966
I even installed it on my PC that is below minimum spec. Intel P4 2.8GHZ HT 2GB Ram ATI X1650 Pro 512MB It runs exactly the same as it does on my Quad computer, no matter what settings you change, you get no difference in performance. Developers need to suck it up and realize, they can't stop piracy, the best thing they can do, is create good games, that actually run well, and stop paying IGN to give them good reviews, and maybe they will sell. IGN rated the PC version a 9.2. Average Reader Review is 4.0 Did IGN even play the damn thing? Or just take the paycheck and walk away.

dezontk
Yeah, I was thinking of running it on my 3.2 P4 system, it would probably stand a better chance on that than this. Which is a joke.
Gibbo3771
I just wiped my ass with the manual , used the disc as my new frisby and stuck the box in a glass cabinet so i know i can always look at it but never play it
Zav_
Why dont we all just team up and go to the rockstar building and fire bottle rockets at it, day and night until they bend to our needs.

roboscorcher
Never thought I'd have to play a game at 800x600 resolution ever again...I sure hope that patch comes soon.
mortuus
Instead of spending 200k$ on DRM protections they should have spend that kind of money optimizing the game.
wzard
I just wiped my ass with the manual , used the disc as my new frisby and stuck the box in a glass cabinet so i know i can always look at it but never play it I just uninstalled the whole crap and threw it in the back of my cabinet. I have been planning to buy a new computer maybe next fall... perhaps GTA IV will work on that or Rockstar have released some patches until then. But the sad thing is though, I paid for it and I didn't get anything in return... except frustration. Rockstar won't give a flying f*ck whether I played it or just uninstalled it. They got their money, I lost it.
DJ24966
Yeah, I will go on from here and pirate every future GTA game. Thats what happens when you release a sh*t game to former loyal costumers.

The same here...and maybe that's the best... 1. /Stores DVD to try again in a new machine someday in the future 2. /Stops worrying 3. /Launchs Left4Dead, that's a game Have fun
Siemah
The game will eventually get pirated Lol, the game has been pirated and released a day before release... Only small indie companies like 2DBoy dare to just forget about DRM all together and they actually make a profit on that I think I will look for a no-cd patch though, I freakin hate games that require me to insert a cd every time I want to play >.<
adrenaline15
somehow, people are more inclined to buy software that arent much of a hassle to install, does not cause problems to the user and lastly a great game to boot. sadly developers and publishers just refuses to acknowledge that, they want something to fall back on when things get bad, sadly wat we are seeing now is their plan backfiring and negatively affecting the real consumers, and its pretty getting really ugly and on my nerves. sometimes, people jump onto the console bandwagon not because its cheaper and such, because its so much easier to play a game from there. plop in a disc, almost flawless or 0 installation, walah, all done and ready to rock, no need to worry about other security modules, no need to worry about a technically failed product. its just really saddening that we the real consumers are actually suffering. im pretty sure none of us are sadistic or masochistic, no one actually pays to get f*cked around anally by an 8''(in diameter) dildo from the software, but wat im getting is just as bad as that. houjie15
I really don't know what is the PC spec the developing team uses. Did they played the game from start to end or just test several part separately and then combine them together saying it is OK to release and make money? And IGN editors, do you finish the game before credit it? If so I wonder what is your PC configuration to hang on with the game.

BECAUSE THEY DID NOT INVEST THOSE 200K IN OPTIMIZING the GAME? IF ALL KNOW THAT THE PIRATEAN SOONER OR LATER...
