brando12
What fps can I run single Player on GTA-IV PC: Amd Athlon dual core processor 3800+ 2.0ghz 2GB ram GEFORCE 9600GT Windows xp Service pack
dr.whiz
you're probably looking at around 10fps with that way-under-minimum-system-requirements processor. the game (because of it's bad coding) relies very much on a high cpu. maybe things will get better with a patch but don't count on it. I dont think so, you can always lower the gfx settings and get higher fps.

I dont think so, you can always lower the gfx settings and get higher fps. but as we've seen reports of, it doesn't quite work that way for most people that have tried. and the fact still is, this game relies on a good cpu mainly it seems, and by having a cpu that is even below the minimum requirements, it's not a good sign in any way and i'd be surprised if he can get more than 10fps out of it. Nuke142
i have same computer but cpu is overclocked to @2.7ghz. 18-35 fps at 1024x768 with medium textures and sliders 1\4.
wintord
Your CPU will struggle, I had a X2 6400Black Edition at 3.4ghz with a 280gts and 4gb mem and struggled to get 20fps average on medium settings So I changed to a Phenom 9950Black Edition clocked at 3ghz and same setting jumped to over twice that. Have to remember the xbox 360 has 3 3.2ghz cores and runs the game on what is basically low setting on the pc and struggles to hit 30fps
JLF05
It seems to be completely random so I wont even guess... People running the same setups are getting totally mixed results...
dr.whiz
It seems to be completely random so I wont even guess... People running the same setups are getting totally mixed results... exactly. i was gonna quote the guy above you pointint out that this guy -> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=379324 is running it on med to high quality with a 35 fps and with only a intel dual core 4.2 GHz. it's random random random. there's no real pattern either except that the game loves GeForce 8800's.
