[WORKAROUND] CTD without error code

Dunno if it's already been posted (seems not after a short search) , but I want to share this one.

After almost an hour of madness cuz I was getting a CTD everytime I tried to launch the game ( STEAM version ), I luckly stumbled upon the solution, here it is:

 

Create a shortcut to LAUNCHGTAIV.exe and add the cmd "-windowed" at the end, it should look like this:

 

 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -windowed

 

 

Launch the RSClub if it's not yet running and leave it in traybar. (DON'T PRESS PLAY)

 

Run the shortcut you have created, this will bypass STEAM and the cmd will be forwarded to GTAIV.exe

 

This way if can finally play the game with this workaround. I've been trying to get it run in fullscreen but can't figure out what's the problem.

I am getting this error in the boxed version of the game. I will give this a try and report back
