wzard
I'm so pissed off right now! After installation you have to sign in to this and that (social club and games for windows live...) and then when I finally started the game the FATAL ERROR: 10MMA (or something like that) happened. Well I didn't log in to social club so the game worked. But now my problem is that I can't save my game without logging in Games for Windows - LIVE!! I just want to play the friggin single player and I don't give a damn about multiplayer or the stats. Any ideas how to save the game without logging in or without internet connection?? Is it possible? BTW: This is the last time I buy a game from Rockstar. There should also read in the back of the game box that you need internet connection to play single player... what is the point to play it if you can't save your progress? Other requirements says this: "Initial activation requires internet connection; Online play requires log-in to Games for Windows - LIVE" So according to this I have just been screwed by Rockstar. PolarisX
We're all pissed, its a big letdown. But any research into the game before buying would have alluded to the DRM that Rockstar employs. Id look at the game cracks for GTA IV im not sure how many are out yet but they must take into account the stupidity of using Live with a pirated game, they must employ a method to save games. In the least it would remove the Social Club garbage. Just a thought, im not 100% sure that such a solution exists. But id hit up GameCopyWorld and see whats out. Yeah... it seems that nowadays you should do a throughout investigation before buying a game. Maybe its too naive to assume that pc games should work when you buy them. If I had money and time I could even consider a lawsuit against Rockstar... I want my fu**ing money back! I miss games like Doom and Quake... you just INSTALL and PLAY. I can't stand all the online stuff like steam and social club! This is discrimination against offline players...
PolarisX
In reality PC Gaming is going the way of the dodo, extinction. In a world of BitTorrent why pay for anything? Thats why games come out for console first, less chance of piracy, a couple of years later when the fad has died and they can afford to make a loss they release to PC, most of the time its a poor port with controls that are badly designed for a keyboard. I remember Vice City, some quests that involved using remote control helicopters were impossible with the keyboard but were simple with a controller. Its pretty sh*tty that piracy has caused us so much trouble, DRM is gunna be the way of the future. Its the only way titles will get released to PC. And im not looking forward to the bullsh*t it will bring.

longbaugh01
At the main menu go to "Guide", then create a windows live profile, and when it asks, make it an "offline" profile.
