Kezman321
Whenever I jump in a car and attempt at driving, the camera never stays behind the car. is there a way of locking the camera?
Mandatory
pirate? heh I dont know I have not heard of anyone else having issues with this? Is your mouse wireless and not calibrated or something?
JohnnyK77
I dont know I have not heard of anyone else having issues with this? Is your mouse wireless and not calibrated or something? Eh? This is the standard setting. Turning the car does not turn the view, you have to turn the mouse to have the camera follow. I too would be interested in a setting like that. I believe the second chase cam kind of does that, but very slowly, so on quick turns you're still suddenly staring at your cars headlights. Kezman321
Its doing my head in, all i want is the camera to lock in chase view, think i'll be emailing rockstar to put it in the upcoming patch
betelgeuse
when you get in a car, just, don't touch the mouse, it should be auto locking behind the car, as long as you don't accidentally touch the mouse then the camera should follow behind the car, just like driving with a joystick, that's how it works for me anyway . Skroting
I have to constantly adjust with the mouse. When the camera is far away from where it should be (like after a 180°), I just tap Look Back.

Yep, thats the best way. It is like this on the consoles too.
redda2
I find this annoying as well. Also when in the car the mouse is inverted for some reason.
Graven
I find this annoying as well. Also when in the car the mouse is inverted for some reason. That should be fixed from settings, mouse auto-invert off.
iristrauma
I have noticed that while in First Person mode inside a vehicle, the mouse look is very sporadic and jerky/slow. It is very unresponsive compared to external mouse look. I think it is another bug for R* to look at and tweak..
PolarisX
One of the tooltips i saw while on a mission following another car said caps-lock would lock the view, im not sure if this is only for when youre following another car.

That only seems to work when you're chasing someone in a mission.

Whichs means crash ? I was like you, couldn't get used to the whole using mouse thing and used to crash like a some drunken mo-fo. But after several hours playing I got used to it and I've started to like it. I tend to use the mouse to look round the corners a few moments before I have to turn

devilru
At first it was very alien however you do get used to it and I think this is how it's meant to be because unlike in GTA 3/Vice City, you can shoot while in a vehicle with a lot more freedom. (Haven't played San Andreas but I know that in GTA 3 shooting while in a vehicle was limited to side-on directly, i.e. looking right or left only.) But seeing as you need to hold down RMB to enter 'shoot', R* should implement an option to have the camera follow the car as per Vice City/III and only allow you to control the camera freely, as is now, when holding down RMB for targetting.
