jamjam1000
File transfer error Data3.cab I keep getting this when installing at about 80% of disc 2, resulting in the install failing. Does anyone have any solutions or should I just keep trying to install it (because the same problem happened for fallout 3 and eventually it worked after about 5 attempts) Thanks

jamjam1000
thanks for trying to help man - im going for my 5th installation now lol, see what happens, I might get lucky (because the install varies on where it fails, once it failed at 40%, then 80%, then 60% etc)
bp2018
Take it back for a replacement of course, if it wont install they should give you a replacement by law.
dr.whiz
did you use some tool to check if your cd is corrupted? also, cleaning your cd might help http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Scratched-CD last resort should be to download cd 2 from a torrent and use a daemon tool or burn the cd and use that instead. should do the trick. and if no obvious solution is found for this, simply replace the cd from the retailer. Does anyone have any solutions or should I just keep trying to install it (because the same problem happened for fallout 3 and eventually it worked after about 5 attempts) Thanks The dvd isn't corrupted, I had the same issue on my first install. To eliminate the problem I installed using two DVD players. This worked fine for me. The install asks for the first disk and then can't find it and then produces the error. Hope this helps a little. I have 2 dvd drives but one wont even read the disc, the other reads it but then I get this data3.cab error im talking about

Try the other disk in the drive and see which one reads and then use the other disk in the other drive. Still this is a poor effort on R*, it should be simple and seamless installation.
