papanesta
I thought the trailer was awesome, enough to get one excited. Just a pity it's ages away, and I'll have Uni work then.
Calidrugs
Anybody knows what he said towards the end of the trailer? As for the release date, I'm assuming it will be November 10th, on a Tuesday. I doubt they will release it on a Sunday, which is were October 11th lands on. Grand Theft Auto Dude
It seems that it won't have a 'Call of Duty' in the title, it will just be 'Modern Warfare 2'. http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2009/03/inf..._of_duty-2.html
EasyTiger
By the way guys, we could have the BETA a couple of months before the release, 'twas the same for CoD4.
Vanillainy
These guys went through the trailer pretty well. Hoping for the beta though.
FullMetal
It seems that it won't have a 'Call of Duty' in the title, it will just be 'Modern Warfare 2'. http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2009/03/inf..._of_duty-2.html To be honest they should've done that from the start (with Modern Warfare). Call of Duty feels more right in a WW2 era (not in Modern warfare-ish settings). Also, this means they dropped the 3/4 year wait untill another CoD title? I mean, first they said that after Modern Warfare 2 they wouldn't make another COD/game for 3/4 years and support 'Modern Warfare 2'/their upcoming game with alot of DLC and extra content. I just think it will be patches and map packs, but who knows.
BowZa28
What do you guys think these perks are? And why is the arrow one bigger than the others..
Rebel
Its probably bigger because they have it selected?
Vanillainy
The first one is stopping power I think. Haven't played CoD for ages so I'm not sure.
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
The shoes with wings might have to do with either speed in which you complete something or some air-themed mission. Or something.
Enjoii
The shoes with wings might have to do with either speed in which you complete something or some air-themed mission. Or something. It could also be a new symbol for Dead Silence, or Extreme Conditioning. The third picture is either two knives crossed or two guns cross (could be Overkill if this is the case). As for the fourth picture, it's hard to tell whether the blurred object above the circle is an arrow pointing downwards through the hole. Or it could be something on a stick being put through the hole (a match maybe, the blur looks could be fire).
Rebel
The last but one picture looks like it could be that UV blocker perk that you get. Kind of looks like a marker then with like a radar around it.
Menaced
In that teaser article it shows this image: The guy who made that article said that thing in the distance is O Cristo Redentor, but someone else beleives it is the Angle of the North: If it is the Angle of the North, does this mean that Modern Warfare 2 will have some link to the UK? Also, is there any hints or proof that the SAS will be in the game? I hope you continue to play as Soap.
beanmike206
Possible modern warfare 3? Jumping the gun a little here I know that its to do with an elevator, and it could just be there, but still.

Dope.
As EasyTiger said, the beta can possibly be here soon, seeing as BETA's almost always come out months before the actual game. Now, what website do I have to register at, and what exactly should I do if I want the BETA?
ryuclan
Possible modern warfare 3? Jumping the gun a little here I know that its to do with an elevator, and it could just be there, but still. It's being rumored that MW2 is going to start where MW left off. Not the actual ending but from the airplane mission. It sounds like the guys are in an airport in the trailer. If that was right then that would be awesome.

For the CoD: WaW beta you either had to pre-order the game or be registered at callofduty.com for a certain amount of time. Who knows how they could do it this time though. Banana
Seems that the game isn't going to have the Call of Duty pre-fix anymore and will be just Modern Warfare 2.
EasyTiger
The first perk is Stopping Power, as Funky said, the two weapons crossing each other looks alot like the current RPG perk but I'm not certain. Also, I thought Infinity Ward broke away from CoD when Treyarch did such a terrible job on WaW, that's why MW2 is being released in the same year? AbSoLuTiOn
The first perk is Stopping Power, as Funky said, the two weapons crossing each other looks alot like the current RPG perk but I'm not certain. Apparently it's two Knives crossed, thats what i read in an article that some people who analyzed the entire trailer said.
MMFF
Seems that the game isn't going to have the Call of Duty pre-fix anymore and will be just Modern Warfare 2. Thats what I thought at first, but I doubt that. To much extra money, just by adding Call of Duty to the front of it. Remember, Rockstar did the same thing with GTA4. They just were advertising it as IV for quite a while.

AbSoLuTiOn
Think I'll keep an eye on IMDb as well. Would be awesome to see Gaz and Price back. Well Gaz gets killed a the end of MW by Zakyev(sp?), so i doubt we'll see him back, but it would be nice to see Price in there as most people seem pretty unsure as to whats happened to him, plus he's been in every IW CoD iteration to date. Omnia sunt Communia
I think dropping the Call Of Duty title would be a bad move on Infinity Ward's behalf. Call Of Duty is an instantly recognisable franchise, and the name alone sells units. Simply calling this game 'Modern Warfare 2' is not going to attract new patrons to this already young franchise. The only people who will buy the game are people like us, people who know this is coming, have played Call Of Duty 4 and know Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to that game. Think of it in the same way as the Command & Conquer franchise. When they created Red Alert, they divided the gaming world by creating two seperate franchises (just like Modern Warfare and World At War). If Westwood had decided to simply create another game and named it 'Red Alert', do you think we'd be sitting here waiting for our copy of Red Alert 3: Uprising to install? The fact is that names have selling power, and to the casual gamer who does not read blogs, frequent forums or follow gaming news; Modern Warfare 2 is going to be just another shoot 'em up. But Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, is the sequel to the award winning game, that they already own. They know it's going to be good, so they're going to buy it. That, my friends, is the power of branding.
AbSoLuTiOn
I noticed that the trailer on the XBL Marketplace is called "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Trailer" not just "Modern Warfare 2 Trailer". As Jacky said, it would be a bad move to drop the name, considering the Call Of Duty name is pretty well established in the casual gamer market, as many who got MW got WaW, though some did go back to MW, it was still the Call Of Duty name that attracted their attention to the game. I think after a while we will start seeing the Call Of Duty name above Modern Warfare 2.
gta 4 gamer
I hope they call this Call of duty 4: Modern warfare 2. I know that's pointless, but thats my opinion really.
