SlingShotUK
sorry it's impossible to read all the the thread so can anyone tell me how to fix this, i didn't have the faded textures jump randomly like that before i exported. mostly on 0:33 to 0:39 That "might" be fixable with render distance/draw distance, up it more, it could be that its set so those textures are just teetering on the brink of render when you export, or a bug with the rendered in video editor if that doesn't fix it. try it more and then far less and see. BTW hope all had a good christmas Ive browsed only briefly and my first post since the holidays so hello and damn there are some nice vids to kick back and watch This threads got real busy. SlingshotUK ref your question about "camera angles" it was a term of phrase more than anything I meant you vid was good for the story and fancy angles were second to the video story, and it worked fine I need to have a good sit back and read through this thread now, its got quite long since I last looked Yay your back Monkey! I was about ready to post and ask where you were.. Had a good break for xmas? Thanks for the angle clarification. I wasn't sure if there were some shots / angles that you felt were a bit faulty or misplaced. I can't believe how differently I view tv shows and movies now. I constantly notice how they are shot, the angles used and how the story is communicated. So many ideas to use in my GTA movies. Just need to get moving on my new ideas. Got one concept which I might call 'Super Dog'.. Just got to do some tests as it relies on clever use of the grenade, fast cuts and carefully chosen angles. It may not be possible to do the kind of story I want but if it is it could be quite funny. Have you got any new movies in production?

Panimala
Finished rendering and uploading a video compilation of various clips shot from GTA IV. Thought I could as well post it here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM8AN_rezJk&fmt=18 Enjoy, took some time making it. Think I'm gonna make more though, since I really enjoy making em! Nice one good camera work and funny scenes. I liked that one! Laughed a bunch at how I can relate to a few of those videos Thanks for the feedback those who liked it, I'll definitely make another one, I dont know when I'll finish it though. GTAMonkey2012
@SlingshotUK Yes indeed im much fatter now = Christmas was good I can't believe how differently I view tv shows and movies now. I constantly notice how they are shot, the angles used and how the story is communicated. So many ideas to use in my GTA movies. Its ALL about the angles to "convey" ... so you already know it by picking it up on that so I doubt you will have trouble on your next one. Its all about sitting back and observing As for me I have 2 coming, both aren't really creative stories as such, just a little more emphasis on the sick & twisted side of GTA and the physics Ones a collection edit that cant be "stories" as such and just scraps of "moments" ive collected and have no place to use them as one thing, but with some cinematic editing anyway. The other is a "going postal" moment with Niko using some tricks to fake security cameras etc. One of them or maybe both will be for youtube only I think because i'm itching to try out some things through Sony Vegas 8 for some effects I want to create. Either way they will be up in the next week or so, although I will need to take time to recover from new year celebrations next

Back to a decent workout regime in new year me thinks. Ah yes and with New Years Eve approaching I can see it being a messy one.. Finish with a big one then start the year with lots of GTA movie creativity.. Know what you mean about the angles. I've got a number of new ideas I want to try out in terms of conveying various emotions etc. Without any dialogue it can be hard to tell a story at times, but by using first person views etc there is quite a lot that can be communicated I think. Looking forward to your new vids. Be great to see what you do with Vegas. I'm going to play with that once I've built my new desktop PC. Compilation vid's can be great as each bit sized chunk shows a different crazy event in the world. I've got a number of clips I want to build into a story but it's just working out the structure. I have the middle of one vid but no start or end yet.. lol. It's a superb police chase but I'm going to need to find the same car then film new bits at the same time in the day. All fun. I think its worth a watch. What do you think? Ghostrider 2 Hey man, I didn't realise Dance Mastah had been completed! I checked it out on Social Club last night and thought it was superb - great work! Glad you dropped the killing angle as I think it works so well without it. Great to see that when Niko got attacked by the security guards he didnt suddenly switch into bad ass mode. Same when he was arrested - the whole tone worked beautifully... Will check out the new video soon...

Skroting
Has anyone else noticed that a clip might vary in length? I'm not talking about different clips, the same clip changing lenght. I'm trying to piece together my third compilation, and at one time, i reviewed my recorded clips. One of them was 1:18 long and took notice of this because it's the longest clip I've recorded. This was a few days ago right after the clip was recorded. Today, as I'm putting the clips into the editor, I noticed one that was 1:25 long and it turned out to be the same clip. The really strange part, is that I used the part I wanted, then I mistakingly added the same clip to the movie. What was the length now...? 2:14! You'd think that this was some glitch and that the last 50 seconds or so didn't really exist, but it did. Strange strange thing... There are several things that are far from perfect with this editor, but it's still great.

For example after rendering the video the music wasn t synchron to the video anymore. The first part was right and the second half wrong. It s fatal when you try to make a music video...i did not finish the video yet but you can handle bugs when you work with other tools like vegas etc.. Skroting
Yeah, I'm using Vegas on this one for text, music and some effects. The only time I've experienced music out of sync, was when I uploaded a perfectly fine video to Social Club. The music is fine in the wmv, but not on SC. It also cut away about 30 seconds from the end of the video. I'm not using that service again...

Skroting
Another super annoying bug, is when you rewind to change something, skidmarks, explosion marks and stuff like that, is still there! That is, marks from events that hasn't happened yet, might be visible in your video. You can usually get around this problem by dragging your progress bar to the beginning of the timeline, and then back to where you were.
FanatiKOr
Hehe i know that. Another thing is when you make an exact camera fly with about 10-15markers and you later decide to change one of the last ones in the timeline then the camera angles of the previous ones get wrong. So you have to reload the video or to change and rework every single marker.
GTAMonkey2012
Cheers for keeping this thread alive Good observations of odd bugs too, will put them togther and add them to the first post. I have a bit of time on my hands so I have a much shorter video im working on, its violent and something most people have done in the game many times, but the point is the use of camera work again to emphasise, all B/W and selected the right music for the mood. Hopefully should be up by end of weekend. Was going to take it into Vegas but I want to retain the limitations to a point to make it a test on what can be done I guess. Enough rambles, good vidz & good posts too

GTAMonkey2012
Sounds like a good idea, I guess using fileshare sites you could up your captures and meta data for each other to work within the editor, might have to test that idea soon.
