GTAMonkey2012
I think they need to re-schedule this until after the patch.. Or .. you have more chance to win Im simply re upping by assassin video but with some slight changes and few wobbly cam fixes, silly to have to re-up but that's the only way to do it within the date specified and to create the specific tags for it. Im in the process of making a short action vid using some nice grabs from multiplayer (to make things different) .. got some nice team work bits & pieces all getting "movie sequenced" up at the moment, working out well .. even my character for online plays looks like me (no, I don't look like a monkey). Brilliant! Loving the new edit Monkey - total quality. Again though my only complaint is with the story. I like the first hit but then it looks like Niko is killing random people - especially outside the theatre (the woman on the floor in particular). The last hit rocks big time though.. Totally brilliant edit and shoot.. Hopefully you'll do really well. I've given you a 5 star rating as the flow of the vid is just superb. I'm going to sit down this afternoon and try and finish my attempt. So hard to plan a big vid though and get all the different shoots to sync up and work.. I expect nothing with competitions, just happy to throw something into the mix that maybe a little different. Yeh as I said before even assassin's are unstable by nature, that middle killing is "wrong" for an assassin, but hey, its GTA after all You could call that part "the bum shot" Or "2 contracts, one freebie" Thanks for comments / feedback and the rating mate, all appreciated. Heh heh, I like that thinking.. We are still working within the GTA system so it's going to be hard to truly establish clear storylines.. That's my biggest stumbling block at the moment - coming up with a coherent narrative that is easy to understand. I do like how you shot Niko in the vid and how you made him act movement wise. Works very well. In many ways it's like shooting a silent movie, as we need to communicate thoughts and actions without words. Damn I want a mission / script editor... GTAMonkey2012
The main thing is to highlight the key points of the moment, like whats the conclusion to the clip? In what way can I make something like walking "look good" ... mirroring shots is good, have one then change the a reverse of that shot ... long shots from a far are good to break it up. Get a track you like from the editor and "any" clip ... load the clip up running with the music, then let the music pace the change and movement of the camera. If you look at my stuff nearly everything I do has the music dictating the flow and pace / shots. Like the assassin one, when the MC is talking about "my Beretta" just happened to work right as niko holds the gun up ... so I panned across his arm to the gun ... let the music help more than will get the juices flowing on ideas. Don't think about anything to upload just practice ... take the most mundane sequence ... get a track you like ... make them work with one another. My example of this is "Rain Over Me" & The first one I did ... that were some of the most un-imaginative clips .. just working it to the music makes it flow. Let the clip tell the story ... if its walking along and falling over ... well there's the story "Falling Down" ... then get loads of clips of falling over akwards, string them together with some music ... you a have a story Rather than spend too long planning a story (which can stifle ideas more) look at the clips you have see what simple stories they have in the clip ... then take inspiration from that. Jaklar
I'd link to Social Club but uploading videos there is tantamount to endless torture, so F them. Besides, looks so much better in HD on YouTube. Anyway, here is my humble masterpiece, Carjack Gone Bad. I think it came out pretty okay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1paM6dCCMwM&fmt=
misiaq
I couldn't upload any videos to social club when rendering them at 800x600. So I did a small test, and rendered a short part of a video in 1024x768, and it uploaded without any problems. Maybe R* doesn't want them to look too shabby, although it makes no difference with the web version, except for having things load longer. Here's what came out of it https://tv.rockstargames.com/videos/view/id/9EDD6DBAD3558C29

I had to reinstall the game and deny the patch every time I start - just to be able to export videos.

Some great tips there Monkey... Cheers.. I must admit I am getting hung up on producing a longer story video. I have a great idea for one now but it's hard to recreate one of the clips I want to use. I need to find the same car and film it at the same kind of day etc.. With this one I have my final scene and the middle part, just need the beginning and some bridging scenes. I like your idea for just taking a clip and working with it, then letting the music inspire you.. I'll have to try that. Does anyone know any times, along with a time zone, at during which the servers are probably least used? A 3-4 minute clip takes well over an hour for me to upload on Broadband DSL. Once you press the upload button, if it looks like it want to upload but the bar is hardly moving at all, let it sit and return in an hour. If you get the upload failed message, try again. For some reason I always get the upload failed message if my online gallery on the right isn't loaded. Click over on the right side in your online gallery area, give it a minute to load (even if you don't have movies online, try it so that a connection is made to the server) then try and upload again. Hope this helps.

creat3d22
Just uploaded my first vid. Nothing to write home about, just testing the editor/Vegas workflow... Sadly the game didn't record the most important part: my car blowing up Oh well... Background music is the beginning of a track I'm working on, only drums and synth so far.
