mjsolja
Hit your window key and r to bring up the run window (or just do it from the start menu). Here is what I typed into the run window and had the norestrict working exactly as written below: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions I typed that into the run window quotes and spaces as shown and the norestrictions worked, i was able to change all settings to what I wanted. This did not help the I have no textures thing at all. I also got other command line parameters to work using that same format but to no avail. Just a car floating in purgatory. Chevyboy
Since not many people have it working I`ll add in what others seem to have missed. Follow the above steps AND you have to be logged into rockstar games social club and possibly windows live games. The way it works is when you click that modified icon, if any screen pops up other than the dos looking window and you have to click ANYTHING before the game loads, it will use a different shortcut and not the one you set up. Had issues with it myself just like most of you guys seem to be, logged into rockstar and the popup window saying you are not logged in and then you have to click play stopped poping up and the game just loaded as normal. Worked like a charm.
AussieDave27
The people who can't get it to work are mostly likely like I was originally and made a shortcut for the wrong application. Make sure that it's for the launch GTA one.
Gottex
donno how but it worked, all I did is looked through D:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\ReadMe.txt ... found the line -norestrictions: Do not limit graphics settings, then went to shortcut properties, "D:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions , logged in Social Club and finally now I'm able to set anything I want Edited December 4, 2008 by gottex
