NIPSEN
I using XP PRO SP3 32bits and the on-board sound card.
Hite
I'm using E8400, HD 4870, 4gb ddr2 800 and Asus P5Q-PRO and i had the same problem, but i fixed it with adding -minspecaudio in properties. You should try that too.
devilru
Furthermore, are you two experiencing the same Realtek HD Audio errors as Byku? If not, I doubt it's the on-board sound. Pretty much all on-board sound devices use either Realtek HD audio or Realtek '97 drivers. I'm using a 64-bit OS, XP Pro 64-bit only goes to SP2 (as it was released late so SP1 was integrated) whereas 32-bit goes to SP3. Maybe I just have a lucky combination. My Realtek HD Audio drivers/devices are working normally, no errors detected. EDIT: Well, I guess it does have something to do with the audio, as the poster above me has P5Q-Pro, same problem and fixed it by using a command parameter which has something to do with audio. Rosbjerg
I have 32bit.. it seems most people are using either the 4870, have an Asus PQ5 (pro or not) or is using Realtek. Most often a combination of these. It's interesting that devilru is using the 64 bit and doesn't have the problem, although he fits the above criterias. What do we have in common that causes this? devilru
Hmm, i'd have to say it's an issue with the Realtek HD Audio drivers + 32bit OS. Only thing I can suggest is downloading the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers (Google it ) I'm still confused as to how an audio bug can make the gameplay speed up. EDIT: You three should also post the resolution you play at, the texture quality (Low, Medium, High) as well as the refresh rate of your monitors (mine is 60Hz). Hite
New drivers doesn't help at all, tried it
Rosbjerg
I did update the drivers.. and it didn't help. But maybe I didn't find the latest drivers. EDIT: You three should also post the resolution you play at, the texture quality (Low, Medium, High) as well as the refresh rate of your monitors (mine is 60Hz). 1280x1024 Settings on high and refresh rate at 75.. But I tried medium and low settings and a lower refresh rate as well.

devilru
Have you updated the BIOS of your Asus P5Q-Pro mobo? EDIT: If that doesn't work then... shame on R* for not thoroughly testing the game. I'm going to have to tell you what you probably don't want to hear: Wait for the patch. 2:20AM, gotta go sleep Hope you guys figure this one out.
