Still buying it?

im DEFINITELY buying gta4 tommorow for pc although i have it on the 360 and PS3. i still want to play it on the train or when im bored in collage on pc.i just love GTA games, ihave gta3,vice city,and san andreas all on pc and ps2 aswel as the psp versions on psp and ps2 im looking forward to gta:chinatown wars.

 

here is my laptop pc specs now.

 

Laptop:Dell Inspiron 1501 (the laptop is a year old)

OS:Vista home premium service pack 1

Memory:1918 magabites of RAM(service pack1 upgraded them to 2 GB of RAM)

Proccesser:AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-58*(2CPU`s),-1.9GHz

Graphics:ATI Radeon Xpress 1150

Directx version:Direct X10

 

do you think my laptop could run gta4 at all ?

I have it right now but I'm thinking of returning it to the store unopened. My computer is getting a little old and I don't think it will run the game.

Yeah I can almost guarantee either a PS3 or X360 will run this game a lot better than your PC.

someone claims to be getting playable frame rates with a P4 and an 8500GT, which is worse than a 7800GTX IIRC.

I've gone through enough garbage lately just keeping FO3 running long enough to play it. Don't want to work as an unpaid beta tester anymore. Man. If there was one company I thought I could count on it was R*. Ah well. Waah.

EB rang to tell me to pick-up my copy, not sure if I'll bother collecting it yet. I probably will in hope that all the issues will be eventually sorted over time, and if not then hey atleast I can sit it next to my forgotten copy of Spore and it won't be so lonely! Anyway I am off to play a proper PC port, Fallout 3 here I come!

How the hell is FO3 buggy? I've only seen one bug and all i had to do was reload. And i finished the game.

 

Im playing it out of the box, no patches or hotfixes, ATI 4870HD maxxed out constant 60-70fps during firefights, no problems here!

More bs, if Fo3 is buggy, GTA 4 is broken beyond repair. Overall FO3 for being such a big game is quite bug free.

How is it buggy? You mean besides the crashes, freezing, stuttering, and slow down issues? This is all on a fairly decent machine, mind you.

Crysis Warhead runs flawlessly. Same with Far Cry 2. Same with CoD4. Same with Dead Space. Same with WoW. So I know it's not my machine. How is it buggy? Honestly. Check Beth's forums.

This game was. So try telling that to Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft. They are the ones responsible for all this "graphics>gameplay" nonsense (which has been the infected fungi on the gaming industry of late).
