dkm87
Whos going to test dx10 older version? How do we get our hands on a copy of older dx version. Microsoft might have build 10 version c for example - but that version c could be from 9 months ago - im not aware of any other way to identify it without pulling about registry info. n1k
LJSilvers post helped me, now everything looks fine, except the shades under the cars are almost completely black (which I don't think they should be) and there is no motion blur to be found. Vista x64 SP1 8800gts 512, 180.48 (completely fresh) obviously [email protected] 4GB RAM Otherwise performance is quite low on the streets, but on the beach it's fine so I'm guessing I just need to upgrade. RedSue
Well, I tried playing agin. and this time i just went through the dark-textureless world. Suddenly they were there! And gone and there and gone... I) think my PC just takes incredibly long to show them? Besides of that, I noticed a major lag. so big that it made me feel kinda sick. No fun at all. I wish i had not spent 44€uros on this.

fflaguna
I'm trying it now. I also installed it on WinXP 32-bit SP3 instead of Win XP 64-bit SP2. I need to update directX and drivers to what Quanta specified, so I'll check back here in about twenty minutes with my results.

Voodoomunki
http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,669239/...roblems_solved/ Just to firm up Quantas's claim that the drivers work. They seem to be beta ones nvidia has released. I know it says for the 7900 cards (I have a 7950) but this might work for the 8+ series too. I havent tried it yet as im at work but will as soon as I get home.

Gryet
I have the same problem too I just went out and bought a 8800GT and it still doesnt work Darn, I was about to do that. I have a 7600SL that has been running everything I've played so far very well, including Crysis. Was about to to down and buy an 8800GT to run this game - guess that would just have been another waste of money.

TheBusiness
Well it worked for me...The 180.70 drivers did the trick. I tried to do the jun2008 Dx at the same time, but it failed. None the less the game works now. (Sluggeshly) Before I was getting no textures with anything over 800X600. Now I just want a decent frame rate at 1024x768 at least. I'm all updated in all aspects. Gryet
Exactly the same issue, However mine has a twist. When i first played the game I had NO UI apart from the icons that should be in the minimap (arrow showing your position and facing direction) even the Esc menu showed nothing but the textures were absolutely fine. Then i updated direct x to the latest update and the ui shows fine but now i have the texture problem. Specs below Core2 duo 6300 2gb ddr2 ram (not sure on speed) NV 7950 gt Windows XP home 32bit. I had the exact same thing, exept different conditions. I first played at 800x600 at 58mhz (or something like that). Most of the textures did not show up. I restarted the game several times, but still the same. Then I changed to 800x600 at 60mhz and all textures were there. Strangely though some dots was stuck on the screen and I could not see any menues or anything. I played a little and exited the game. Has not been in the mood to start it up again.
