fflaguna
Well, when you tell it not to autolog you in and then you restart the game, the games for windows live overlay does NOT pop up on the screen at ANY time, yet the texture issues still happen. I'm so sad. ;*(

Malik
the game doesn't work regardless of being signed in to live. i booted this game five different times. the textures thing isn't tied to live. lets count starting now on how long it takes for R* to fix this. In months or years?

dr.whiz
so i guess at least there is one consistency, nividia. someone mentioned earlier that it affected ati as well but so far i haven't seen anyone actually reporting this personally. dkm87
Ok we are getting somewhere!!! I just spent half hour ont he phone with the biggest distribuotr of this game. Rockstar ARE aware of the issues. They are 90% sure its video driver related issues and say that we should expect something within the week. In the meantime - they also suggested doing a fullregistry cleanout as part of the game settings are stored in some files(im not 100% clued up on this) They also suggested deleteing local content within the my documents folder and reinstalling etc Aside form that - within a week expect a patch from nvidia or rockstar. dr.whiz
okay so with other words it's the nividia driver causing it, used for both the 8800 and the 280. the only thing that boggles me is that im sure a lot of people with those cards and same drivers are playing this game fine. mjsolja
add another one to the pile. seeing the exact same missing textures as everyone else. specs are: xeon x3350 2.66 @ 3.2 ghz 4 gigs ram vista 64 bit 9800 gx2 80.48 drivers oh and no sli support, but crossfire works? optimized for nvida huh ??? edit: forgot to mention, retail dvd version. I know you're just trying to help and I know I'm DEFINITELY on edge, but come on man, read the thread. There have been many screenshots posted and lots of stuff you are trying to "collect information on" has already been collected or discussed. Not to mention you're starting multiple?? threads about this issue when we've already got this one for a collective discussion.
dr.whiz
its obviously something more than just the graphics driver causing this since fflaguna has tried all of them to 6 months back in time, and all kinds of different nividia graphic cards are being affected and not everyone with nividia graphics cards with the same drivers are affected by this.
