Zen_Warrior
having the same problem no textures im running vista 64bit , 8800 ultra , Ok i have almost come to the conclusion its a DX10 issue. The game is written for DX9 - and rockstar highlights this on their website.... I have also noticed that once this game was installed - other dx9 game i have (valve etc) have played up and crashed. False. I'm running DX9 and I'm getting the same issue. The game is f*cking broken! There's no other explanation. Rockstar f*cked us all over. dr.whiz
i guess it could also be cause of some non-gta related processes runnin in the background since the readme states that this can create issues, especially anti virus related processes. but i guess it could be mostly anything. did anyone experience this on a clean os install? Democrab
I want to know two things, who's using a Steam Copy, and who's using Retail, with this problem? And, dkm87, can you get the updates name for us, please, this MIGHT be something to do with it. Edit: Can we also have people try to turn off the Video Editor? Edited December 3, 2008 by Joe. Deak Rulf
I want to know two things, who's using a Steam Copy, and who's using Retail, with this problem? German Retail Version (2 DVDs). Grabbed it tonight while the guys were putting it in the shelves. The Version doesn't seem to matter.
dr.whiz
so far the problem is most likely not related to: * Graphics Card Maker (nVidia and ATI both have problems) - still unconfirmed if ATI users have this problem? * Operating System (happens on XP 32 and 64bit and Vista 32 and 64bit) * Drivers (Everyones on different drivers) * HDD * Retail / Download (Steam, Direct 2 Drive, Retail, German Retail all accounted for) supposedly it's got to do with certain windows updates? dr.whiz
updated list to what is most likely not affecting the issue * Graphics Card Maker (nVidia and ATI both have problems) - still unconfirmed if ATI users have this problem? * Operating System (happens on XP 32 and 64bit and Vista 32 and 64bit) * Drivers (Everyones on different drivers) * HDD * Retail / Download (Steam, Direct 2 Drive, Retail, German Retail all accounted for) * Framework (.NET 3.5, anything below is not relevant since it fails to meet the games minimum requirements) * GTA IV Video Editor (Turned off, still shows no improvements)
