Deak Rulf
Hey guys, I'm having the same problems - no textures. System is a C2D6600, Nvidia 8800 GTX (768 MB), 2GB RAM WinXP 32Bit SP3 Latest drivers etc. (Tried several) I've tried all the gfx-settings in the game and in the driver panel without success. Looks like it is not a 64-Bit-Issue. At least not for me.

fflaguna
turn off Combined Writing... I'll try that now. Restarting. Nope, didn't work. I just tried it after turning off write combining and restarting my comp. I've also separately tried drivers that were released for the card six months ago, those didn't work. dr.whiz
what you all need to do is to figure out what you all have in common. it's obviously not a OS issue since people with xp 64bit, vista 32bit and vista 64bit have all had this problem. this also means it's not directx related and supposedly not graphic driver related either since different os's have different drivers. dr.whiz
install the latest directx You're a funny guy. Read first sentence of the first post starting this thread It has happened to me on other games and thats what I did. it's up to you the problem is that multiple people are experiencing the same problem with totally different versions of directx. it's clearly not a directx issue. i mean, dont get me wrong, it's obviously something r* messed up, but that doesn't mean it cant be identified by finding the connection in hardware or software on the end users of all users having the problem. fflaguna
good luck with that Since you obviously don't want to read the VERY first sentence in this thread, I've said that I've already updated DirectX fully. That means going to the MS site using IE to download their DirectX installer and watching it as it downloaded an update for the month of November which didn't chagne a thing. Don't post on topics if you aren't going to read the first post, even! blame your computers.... No sh*t, sherlock. Didn't you notice the three pages of us trying to figure out what was wrong? Deak Rulf
Maybe it is a problem with the motherboard chipsets and the drivers. Well that's just a guess... (the way they stream the textures was always strange) You have set the PCIE-Sped to 16x in the BIOS?! (sometimes it is at 4x by default)
Democrab
Okay, Here's a list of what we know it shouldn't be. Graphics Card Maker (nVidia and ATI both have problems) Operating System (happens on XP 32 and 64bit and Vista 32 and 64bit) Drivers (Everyones on different drivers) Defragmented Hard Drives (Everyone has defragmented them) Integrity (People who have checked if the files are okay and got a yes from it still have the problem) Anything else that we can put on this list? Can we get a list of users, and is it all people on Steam or some people with the retail game? If its people on Steam, Maybe one of their servers has a dud copy of IV on it.
