thaCURSEDpie
I've got 3GB of ram, but I've still got this issue! Yes, I've reset the settings with rivatuner. Yes, I've wiped all the drivers, did a complete re-install. What is my issue: 1. I walk out of the first building: all textures are really low-res (have to wait for a few seconds) 2. When driving around it takes very long to change the low-res textures into normal ones, + the normal textures keep changing to low-res ones, and back.... Mr.Ruthless
Nothing works for me. I tried the Driver Sweeper, I tried the RivaTuner, I tried everything, but the textures disappear after I exit Roman's house and drive a bit. I hope the patch will fix everything. BigFellor
Ok, so I tried the steps on the first page. I HAVE A 7900 GS The latest drivers it appears I can install are the 178.24. Whenever I try to install the 180.60, it says something about not being able to find drivers that match my current hardware.

FunGt
I solved the problem with textures installing 180.70 drivers, but the games runs at 8fps! I saw some people with my specs that can run it at 15-20... some suggestions? I have: AMD 2ghz dual core 7600GS 512mb RAM 2gb XP thx...
Florin
The new driver(180.84) didn't fix the missing textures in my case though I got and increase in performance. It's kinda annoying to see the textures gradually fading away or not loading as they should after the new driver.
Jew4Life
OK doing what the OP says basically just messed up my gfx card and made the simplest graphics go slow... RedSue
Well, Rockstar is talking about the big Patch here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380088&st=0 BUT still, nobody even mentioned the texture problem at all... I don't think this is going to work out for us. I believe I payed 50bucks for 50bugs.
smooth-orpeal
Got it working with 178.somewhat drivers, worked with 180.70 drivers from laptop2video... Very slow but nice to look at... Installed the new drivers they suggested - Performance increased - Missing textures back Dont install them blindly if you dont want to land at the point you started your unending journey through the world of bugs Rf*cking* has brought to you... jolly_jay
Still no Textures!!! I have reinstalled my nVidia driver three times...following the exact intructions...uninstall, run driver sweeper in safe mode, reinstall driver. No effect. I tried installing the nVidia driver 180.84....Error!!! cannot install this driver for this hardware. Didn't surprise me..as i am using nVidia 9500M GS card which has the driver provided by asus. I dont' know where else to turn. I have tried just about everything. I honestly don't beleive R* patch is going to include the problem we have here. It seems the problem is a little more deeper than just reinstalling the driver. Luck has it....it happens to work in some cases. When i do manage to get it running with textures...it runs fine. Generally i find the textures come back after you finish running benchmarking...until you save again. Whenever i save...a few minutes later my textures have dissapeared. Last night i played the game for an hour after benchmarking with no problems at all. Straight after saving the game and stepping out onto the street .....textures dissappeared. I also cannot connect to rockstars social club. Why the heck does rockstar social club have to be so closely tied into the game. Why can't they just have another small app that you can CHOOOOOOSE to run if you want to connect to their damn social club. Benchmarking (in this benchmarking i happen to lose some textures towards the end of it) Statistics Average FPS: 16.27 <---damn good huh Duration: 38.03 sec CPU Usage: 63% System memory usage: 67% Video memory usage: 89% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1024 x 768 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Render Quality: High View Distance: 25 Detail Distance: 37 Hardware (Asus Laptop MS51N) Microsoft® Windows Vista" Ultimate Service Pack 1 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS Video Driver version: 167.49 Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T9500 @ 2.60GHz File ID: Benchmark.cli and yes...i have cranked everything down to lowest level..still missing textures. Rickpetrusmaria
OKAY BOYS IMPORTANT UPDATE!! I GOT IT WORKING! Yesterday when I came home I tried the Rivatuner solution, I installed a month ago Rivatuner to control my fan speed. I did a reset to default settings , a reboot and it worked perfectly! With ofcourse doing first the solution given in post 1 ! So I guess it's really important to delete your drivers , reinstall them and then reset 3rd party tuners like Rivatuner! It runs even great with textures high and render highest , and I'm talking about smoothly 30 / 40 FPS E6300 !!! Hejsurt
I also have this problem. But when I load the game it just keeps loading and loading forever. Its like its stuck. And when I press Windows button and click on the game. It has started. But everything is laggy and the textures are messed up. Help?
jolly_jay
Problem now fixed for me. Loaded the 180.70 beta driver modded for M cards. Been testing for past few hours...tested saves, loads and new games. All fine. Frame rates ranging from 20-30fps on medium settings. I'm happy with that. I can finally get out of the gtroubleshooting forums and get into the gameplay forums. It was hard to take the game too serious with the texture issues. Eurogeneraal
It seems as if nVidia users got what they wanted, but all the ATi users get owned... axis09
like i said in the other thread, the new beta drivers 180.84 make no difference, and neither does using the default button in riva tuner 2.
Fireburn
I got this problem aswell. My specs are: AMD X2 6000+ NVidia 8800GTS 2GB RAM I tried reinstalling drivers, tried 5 different drivers, old ones, new ones, betas, all with the driver cleaner, but nothing had any effect. I think I'm gonna try to reinstall Windows or something, maybe that makes it work, because I waited for this game sooo long, and now I get this sh*t. I paid 50€ for a product not even working, while my PC meets all requirements.
