If you did, then it's a 3rd party application that you can download to tweak your videocard settings. It will allow you to overclock and adjust settings in a way that the standard drivers do not. If you do not have rivatuner installed, then it will make no difference. If you have some other 3rd party ap that does something similar, you could always try resetting that to defaults too. True, didnt work for me also...fflaguna youre not a rockstar or nvidia technician He did good on putting up what worked for many people at the time he put it up... Dont flame him for helping. It did not help me at all, but many many got it right after doing what he put up... Don`t think he was the guy that came up with it though.... Well we did exactly the same today. 1: Defragmented the drive where the game is installed 2: Uninstalled nvidia drivers 3: Restarted and went into safemode 4: Removed any trace of gfx drivers with the program mentioned in the first post. 5: Restarted windows again 6: Installed nvidia gfx drivers 180.70 Our systems: Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 2.40GHz 4GB ram Windows Vista64 8800GT (his is from club3d, mine from evga, dont know if that makes any difference) Well now he has textures and can play, while i still have no textures. I went to compile it and it completely locked up my system. I had no choice but to kill the GTA4 process and afterwards the game only recognized half the resources I had previously. After a reboot it recognized my full resources again but the GODDAMN Missing TEXTURE bug is back! So now I'm back at square one. (contig.exe must be where the GTAIV.exe is.); 3. make a shortcut on desktop; 4. in the command line write in " -s *.* -v " it's gonna look like this: "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\Contig.exe" -s *.* -v (screenshot) 6. run the shortcut and wait about 30-40 min [it all depends on computer] after all GTA4 runs faster and the problems with textures are gone. Securom, as far as i am concern, is nothing more than a useless profit-savvy tool that acts and behaves like a virus. It is an oppressive DRM, which is basically malware that infects your computer and virtually NEVER goes away unless you format. SecuROM will then reside in your memory and run in the background ALL THE TIME, taking up your computer's resources. It can disable your virtual drives and the game can crash just because you have CD/DVD burning programs on your computer? WHY? because software developers treat every single damn thing you BURN as doing something illegal! I can't believe this SecuROM piece of sh*t is now infecting Rockstar games. When the f*ck will game companies learn that copy protection is useless and it has no f*cking defense mechanism against the WAREZ community. If you want a good example of DRM, look at Steam, not these countless authentication processes. So, avoid installing the game at all cost unless you are f*cked up from drugs, with that said, say no to Securom and lets say no to f*cking useless profit-savvy copy-protection tool. I wonder sometimes when will these companies learn that ALL SECUROM DOES is harm and inconvenience legitimate customers? Maybe my laptop is just to slow (it does meet the minimum requirements, even the recommanded requirements except for my processor), but i'm not sure Specs Windows Vista 32bit SP1 Intel Core Duo 2 1,83ghz 4GB DDR 2 8600M GT (Driver v.7.15.11.5672) Some advice would be appreciated so i know what exactly the problem is ( and if possible a solution) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
