13th_Disciple
@Zorgus... I'm in your boat, UK gamer, reading the awful initial running specs from others and who also owns an 8800GTX I'll let you know how GTA runs on my machine and hopefully we'll progress all with similar rigs... I'll be running on an AMD Phenom x4 @ 2.4Ghz - 8800GTX 768 (630/1800) @ 1650x1050 (ForceWare 180.48) - Vista32-DX10 - 4G 1066 Ram - Hope and a Prayer! I've been testing my system, i only have Crysis-wars installed at the moment which always plays beautifully (mostly) with everything cranked up at my native resolution, it's taken a few patches and drivers to get there though - FarCry2, Assassins Creed, Dead Space, GRID, Brothers in Arms, Fallout3, what ever always good, always good frame rates, playable and decent, above 35 FPS+ - You would think my 1650x1050 resolution would be a stumbling block as far as frames rates are concerned, but not at all, so i hope...GTA-IV will serve us well, if not...call it Version 1.0. Do you have the tendency like i (maybe most with good cards) to just crank everything up and see what happens? first hit... I do, then see what needs shaving off and cutting down, if anything! - the games i have tried over the last few months (going back a year or more now) haven't proved any problem, i make sure my machine is resource free and de-fragged etc before i expect problems, looks like GTA has a draw-distance setting thats going to cost me a couple of new GFX cards into the future - Hopefully ok, but the more i read these forums, the more i still want to play it -13th

Rii
Hello there! Any chances for me to run that game with more/about 25fps? Athlon 5000+ 2.6Ghz 3gig's of RAM HD2600xt (GDDR4 edition 256/128) 1024x768 maximal resolution (15' screen, so i can play it easy on lower resolution, like 800x600 or smth, lol) I have ordered it, because of officlial sys recommends it would run on my pc, but no im worried Thanks! PestilenceJM
Oh my god... i read comments of people who havent played/tested the game yet on the PC. And those people are cursing and all, blaming Rockstar etc. What is up with all those guys? You are seriously overreacting. I would say we wait until tomorrow when all Europe and the other countries have the game. Also to calm you guys down: Do you think that those people who can play it without problems, will go on a forum and post about it? NO, they will play it 24/7. All the bad reports your seeing are from people who can not play due to major or minor errors, and of course those people have plenty of time to post plenty bad comments and reports. So all chill out until you play it yourself.

a_doorway
I'm on an AMD 6000+, 2GB RAM and a Geforce 9800GTX and it still lags like hell on lowest settings. Rockstar ****ed up on this one, and if they want it to be a success for PC they'll have to do a bit more work on the issue.

And me with my mere Intel T2600 dual-core 2.16MHz, 2MB cache, 2GB DDR2, and nVidia 7900 GTX... I think I'm scrood. Anyone want to tell me otherwise? (Please???) I know I ought to wait until the mail-man brings my copy from England, but I gotta say the tone of all this chatter is making me very, very worried. I mean, I don't put it past them to skroo it up. Devils Dog
Yeah so what ? He is using a 8600 GT for an extremely demanding game. That is not bad results. You need atleast a 8800GT series card and 4gb memory to play this properly on high settings. And if you have resolutions higher than 1280x1024 you simply need an GTX260/280 card or 4870X2. Hi, I saw on a post somewhere that the recommend graphic card was an 8600GT, now if that only give around 20 mark, why doesn't it have a high recommend graphic card. That 20 FPS was on Medium and Low settings. Do you think a Nvidia 9800 series will help as I be upgrading my card, sometime next year. Also my ram will be going up to 4gb and I also be getting a quad cpu next year Edited December 2, 2008 by Devils Dog
