When it isn't then R* can go and f*ck him self. R* is almost the only normal remaining developer who is doing quality games. EA etc are making crap now days. But when they screwed up the game like GTA IV on PC then seriously Rockstar go f*ck your self. Wow I'm pissed. I'm not even waiting for this game after reading all those comments how badly it performs(no AA etc). Seriously. Horrible. We should write some letter to the R* and ask them to fix this sh*t or we will start boycotting their products. It is just f*cking horrible. GTAMonkey2012 Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 The only time i can see when AA is not in the game settings is they know it will KILL the game switched on and in a way admit that FPS isnt going to be great or a test without it. I haven't got it yet (should arrive in the next hour) but cant install till tomorrow, I really want to install it more now, not to play but to tweak it to death and see what I can get out of it! And when it runs like a crap on my computer, then I have to wait until UPS comes over my house and try's to hand over the game for me. Then I just refuse to take it and I will let them to send it back to the store and I will ask my money back. Seriously I've never been so f*cking pissed. GTA Is been my favorite game series and they always had great games but reading those current reviews etc things it just looks like Rockstar just screwed everything up. When this game really is soooo bad and it won't run smoothly with high end computer or when R* will not patch those problems, then I seriously hope that economic crisis will destroy their whole f*cking company. bp2018 Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) It could very well be fixed with a small patch, or it could be securom wrongly thinking people are using pirated copys, its been known to happen before. In a few days we shall know if its a game issue, securom issue, or if its simply a badly coded port. EDIT as it seems to be MAINLY an ati 48xx series issue it could either be drivers or securom wrongly thinking people with 48xx are pirating the game since it uses a hardware test for activation.... By the way, why would it have a Quad core as a recommended CPU? I doubt it can utilize all 4. I can't name ANY games that use all 4 cores. I do use a couple of programs, but they're optimized for parallel computing. Games don't utilize parallel computing, because usually a core is waiting for the other core to finish something and the performance simply isn't scalable. 2 cores is another thing, there's not much parallelization. Because I have an sidebar tool that graphs my core usage and when I skip out of the game I can see what is getting used, I can also see all the cores drop off once the game is exited. Avean Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Yeah so what ? He is using a 8600 GT for an extremely demanding game. That is not bad results. You need atleast a 8800GT series card and 4gb memory to play this properly on high settings. And if you have resolutions higher than 1280x1024 you simply need an GTX260/280 card or 4870X2.
