If you want AA, just go into your nVidia control panel (I think there is an option in the ATi panel as well) and have it override the game's AA setting to the setting you want.

nice pics do you really need a quad core to run it on the highst settings?

dunno, we didn't have the chance yet to run it on multiple systems. But the other PC i saw it running on is a dual... and it ran smooth

ok becuse i have a dual core 2 e8500 with a nvidia 9600gt as grafical card much people already told me i can play it on high so i hope i can play it on high tounge.gif

If you carefully read the whole content of this thread you'll see that you can't override any AA from the graphic card control panel.

true, that's the reason for us making these high res screens... this way the missing aa isn't such a problem...

if you had read carefully you would note nothing about the nVidia control panel was mentioned, rahter the ATi equivalent.

Maybe the Nvidia control panel wasn't mentioned, but...

Runs like crap. Tried forcing AA through CCC, doesn't work.

It's on page 4 btw.

The AA is absent, but you can force the card to use SuperSampling.

I've tweaked my GTX280 to force 16x Supersampling, a bit FPS costly, but worth it.

May I just say that the shadows are f*cked up, most especially the projected shadows.

Dualview? ... aint that an unnecessary workload for your GPU? ... or maybe that second monitor I see in the quoted screenie is hooked up to a second comp?

I have 2 monitors aswell but whenever i run a "demanding" game I disable dualview.

That's it for me for tonight guys sorry. I've shown you some low, medium and high pics so we all generally get the idea.

ATI f*ckup or not, this game has been a disaster so far for all of us in both looks and performance.

Maybe the story and gameplay are great but at the moment it's unplayable.

Mine still crashes and artifacts like a bitch, despite applying the fix kindly provided on page 2.

On Thursday I'll have a go with my new 9800 NVidia laptop but I'm not expecting much.

That wasn't a fix, that was a trick to bypass the limits. All you have done is gone and made things harder for your GFX card. EG why it keeps cutting out.

Too many folk without an actuall clue trying to push more out there system when the sytem check built into the game is allready saying NO NO NO.

Bad optomisation my arse, poor use of sliders bars more like. Bet your PC couldnt run SA maxed with the 10x draw distance mod either so what chance deos it have with an even more graphically demanding game.

You are just gonna have to bite the bullet and realise if you have an average PC then you are just gonna get average performance, eg all sliders in the middle somewhere. It aint rocket science.

Tommorow I will find out for myself no doubt.

The graphics on the earliest posts are still better than what I get on my PS3 version so therefore it is allready a win.

Not mine, A friend sent these to me

Apparently the posters specs are:

Intel QX 6800 @3Ghz

ASUS Maximus Extreme X38

4 GB DDR3 OCZ 1800

ATI 4870x2

Asus Xonar D2X

Toughpower 1000 watt power supply

Not sure about the Frame Rate

Those pics look decent. Compared to the rest.

But what do you except from a 4870

Well, after reading this thread here, I just have to say ... wow!

The game on low settings (mandatory for my laptop) sure does look bad, even down to the level of San Andreas's graphics with a refined 'smaller, but uglier' approach. This most definately is a bad news topic for me, and I can't see the reason for such low performance on these graphics aswell (and the reson for those requirements at all) - it looks no better than a fallout 3 on medium-low, but that atleast runs better!

I'm honestly considering the idea that Rockstar didn't make a ported game, but rather made their own X360/PS3 Emulator software to launch the game on..

Guys I need an advice,do you guys think I'm going to be able to play GTA IV with 1280x1024 maxed with the following rig?

Core2Quad Q6600

Geforce 8800GTS 320/320 OC

4gb ram

Windows XP SP3

Any help would be appriciated,thanks.

Are you kidding me? No AA? That should be the main graphics feature to be included I can't believe its not in there. Can someone confirm this?

watno.

AA is - by far -the most expensive feature to implement, in terms of performance. lusers are already having trouble running the game anyway, AA would compound their performance issues.

I dunno, maybe its just me, but i thought more traffic, draw distance, and other enhancements were more important than some silly "jaggies".
