120 users are reading this topic. Holy sh*t. this is the greatest day on my life...

Really? suicidal.gif

haha no but did anyone with a nvidia card had problems yet? Only seem to have problems with ati cards so maybe it is a catalyst problem indeed, lets hope for the best. Bozo run on a nvidia card? Because i didnt saw him mentioning that.

Here we go guys. A new batch of MAXED OUT SETTINGS

I managed to use the "no restrictions" edit to allow me to max out viewing distance and textures. It runs terribly and imo looks like a massive jagfest when you go outside. Inside is barable. It is in no way enjoyable to play at the moment.

I've noticed though, is there AA at all in this game?

Someone did mention a lack of AA settings. (Another sign of lazy port-job)

Wow, that sucks if it's true. I almost can't live without AA, unless it's because of my system I run it on is not so great, or can't even use AA at all(gma 950 on SA, etc).

I'm pretty sure R* will fix this though, if not, well don't lose hope I guess confused.gif .

1gb 4870 O/C to 790/1000

E8500 @ 3.6ghz

4gb 1066mhz ram

Gigabyte EP-45 ds4p mobo.

So it aint slow.

There is no option for AA in game. I've tried every which way of forcing it through the catalyst control centre but it doesn't work. For who the game looks, it really should be running a lot better. I played through it on Xbox, but i wanted it for pc for the smoother frame rates for multiplayer.

Is that maxxed out? Sorry but that is just plain awful.

[MM], really? Damn, so r* did mess up. Damn im not going invest into a new pc for this game then, i wait till the core i7 to become cheaper maybe that will run it decently, because this game is like the next Crysis. Only Crysis looks 20 times better and looks like it even runs smoother too.

I have to concur if that is the maxxed out settings and it runs like crap then Rockstar should be shot for this game. I am saving my judgements till I see the game running here (should have it by tomorrow) but right now I can't say I am looking forward to the experience.

Hey guys. I have some news for you. I've just called a friend of mine who got the game. His specs are:

E8400- 3GB ram- GTX 280. He said that at 1920x1200 he had to turn down the draw distance a little and texture to medium in order to make the game running above 30 FPS. He said that the game looks terrible and is very jaggy (0 AA), even when the texture is at the highest.

F*ck that.

The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it.

Yeah, right..

What do you think ? Can i run it on 3870HD 512MB DDR4 on medium or high ? confused.gif i have pre-ordered the game , but it will come to me on 8.12.08 . Screens are nice , i like the game, biggrin.gif Can someone post the avg FPS on max settings ? (on good PC )

Anyways, has anyone tried the swing glitch on the PC?

Screens maybe? tounge.gif

EDIT: Sorry if you still can't access this swing glitch if it's on another island, I have never played GTA4, yet sad.gif , so I don't know.

v:1manarmy: Thanks for telling me that smile.gif

It's on the first island you start off. You even go there during of the early missions.

Can R* release a patch to fix the big mess they have left behind.

At 1 point i bash R* for the lazy job they have done and curse them for playing with my balls(it really hurts, you know) and at the next i hope for a quick fix from them. I am going nuts.

And I seriously hope its a driver problem. Just praying that my 9800 GT can handle it on medium.

If thing don't improve the game really sucks balls. STOP playing with my balls R*. Its NOT at all funny. mad.gif

Still miles better than the consoles, and i can vouch for that. smile.gif

Glad to see no DOF blurry sh*t, yahoo.

Not too worried about AA personally as at 1920x1200 you dont really need it much and my PC struggles at 4 or over at that res.

Plus there are probably tricks to optimise your settings but everyone, myself included, are going to hit all those slidders to the max if possible and are just going to cut back from there. Most folk get greedy with draw distance though and they will pay the FPS price.

People are knocking this game allready and nothing more than others pushing there hardware beyond it's limits is causing the problem, what did you expect?

The ATi problem is ATi's problem and not R*'s. They need to sort out out their drivers and nothing more.

Even the lowest spec pics in this topic are better than what i have seen on my PS3 so chill out.

What system were these taken from?

View distance makes the biggest diff. The problem is, even when you are staring at a wall and you turn the view distance up it starts to chugg really badly. smacks of unoptimized code.

Some full size pics- All settings maxed cept draw distance which is on 45.

Maybe some screens with fraps on?..

I am not that mad. It was a one-off thing. Had a bit of beer and I am fine now. Yeah but it does hurt when something highly anticipated goes horribly wrong. Not the end of the the world though. Mods to the rescue, i guess...
