This are my screens (from some forum in my country so dont bother with language ) the rig is in signature on that link and its before ultimate fix,

new driver and the rest stuff with only 2gb of DDR2 (pictures on the left are without blur), it was running from 15-22fps with alot fps drops but it was enough for singleplayer...

Now its running is 24-35fps with realy rare drastic fps drops because ive update my rig with extra 2gb of DDR2 and ive lowered some of setings like view distance to 30, detail distance to 40 keept

the resolution on 1600x1200 with high textures highest render quality and shadows completly off...

Basically I have everything maxed out besides "Texture Quality."

 

With "Texture Quality" on high I couldn't get "View Distance" past 42.

well sh*t, exactly.

 

the really sad thing about GTA4 PC is that, even for people like Thales who can run the game at max, it still looks crappy because textures are stretched and AA does not exist.

you've got what should be a beautiful game (and is, for the most part) but which somehow manages to look rough and unpolished at the same time.

 

just goes to show you how pathetic their "future proofing" excuse really is.

Generally speaking, i think GTA 4 looks good, but the lack of AA is noticeable - if , like R* said, the higher GFX settings were planned for "future" rigs, why not include AA in the pack, with DX 10 support or not, i dont care.

yeah... but that's my point.

 

the whole excuse is fishy.

 

if they tried to claim that the game is "future proof," why WOULDN'T they add AA? I can't think of a single good reason to leave AA out, especially if you're trying to claim that it's future proof.

they could have still said the game is future proof by making it so that you can only enable AA on "High" or something. like start at 4x instead of 2x.

 

but to leave it out of the game completely?? that's just stupid. and it's not fair to people like you who put enough money into a really above-average gaming rig. because surely, someone like you Thales should be able to run it at max AND have it look like it should. the max settings for you still just look like regular HIGH settings for any other game.

 

it's just not fair to the gamer.
