Grand Theft Auto IV Screenshots

LOL, wtb someone who is using XP and using a Geforce card to post there specs, Thats why i dont order from ATI, they dont get there sh*t together. Just because ATI has a better spec'd card for a few days, doesnt mean they have the better support for games... Plus, Dont use vista, i highly recommend downgrading... there actually going to trash it and make a new one called Windows 7...

Well they arent going to trash it, but make it BASICALLY office recommended.. screw the gaming!

Wow you're on the ATI hate bandwagon AND the Vista hate bandwagon? Good lord sarcasm.gif . Hopefully this will all be sorted out soon enough, although I don't see how the game could have possibly been released like this.

You should be on the Vista bandwagon because it sucks. teehee. Yes vista does decrease performance, even if Jallar is going to post a link to a benchmark comparison from some uncredited source.

Anyway can you post a screenshot on the 1024x768 resolution maybe? And maybe on low settings to show how it looks if you have the time. Because thats the maximum settings i can play it on im afraid.

Thank you @ something0987

I'll look into that.

That's only happened twice though. The rest of the time it's been the "This program has stopped working"

I'm very sorry for the delay guys. The problem is that I simply can't get the game to work. It either crashes during the intro movie or crashes after a second or two once the first bit loads up with me in the car at the dock.

Oh and I can't change my settings back to the highest possible without a crash.

I'll keep on trying.

On a different note, I'm expecting a notebook delivery on Thursday which has a pretty powerful rig (2.8GHz core 2 duo, 9800 GTS, 4 gig ram, vista 32 bit ultimate). This notebook is a little less powerful than my desktop but it importantly has a NVidia graphics card. Most of you will have the game by then but I'll at least be able to do my own little ATI vs NVidia comparison.

I like your nick, it fits, that was kind of painfull to read.

Now, as a Vista AND ATi user, I highly disapprove of this post.

First of all, there's no reason Vista would run games any worse than XP, infact, Vista has more up-to-date version of DirectX (10.1, and it runs 9c games faster).

As for ATi, their cards are better price/performance vise, actually support DX 10.1, and don't use as much power as Nvidia cards do. Nvidia cards do have better support, there's no denying it, but ATi will release a hotfix and make the boogeyman go away.

Also, cut the "lol"s and "sh*t"s, they don't actually add credibility to your post.

Wow that's really disappointing to hear, especially since I seem to have the EXACT same rig as you. Are you by any chance using an e8500? I was hoping to go out tomorrow and get this but I suppose I'll have to wait a while to see how this turns out, like a lot of people probably will now.

I like the cut of your jib.

As for Painful, feel free to talk however you want, but don't expect to be taken seriously when you're bashing on perfectly fine software/hardware and talking like you're a 12 year old who's just discovered the internet. It's pretty irritating.

Oh my.

Anyways back on topic, we really need some more screenshots from people who've bought it, because so far it's been pretty disappointing.

It's my thread so if people want to talk about the screenshots, go ahead.

Here are some more. The first few are taken using my recommended settings (because I couldn't initially change them) which are quite low.

The rest are on very low settings for those with low end computers (like the guy who requested them) so don't complain that they look bad because of course they will on such low settings. I'll also add that even on these lowest settings the game wasn't super smooth.
