Rickzu
I can now confirm GTA IV to be fully working and playable on the following setup: AMD X2 6000+ 3.0Ghz 3Gb RAM (edit: I made a typo, it said 2, I fixed it) ATi HD4850 OC-edition Vista Ultimate 64-bit Screenshots follow: In-game: http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/7710/gtaivingame01kl2.png Settings: http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5022/settingsty8.jpg Benchmark results: http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6798/benchmarkog7.png I think imageshack resized some of my screen caps....I'll see about full sized ones later. Original resolution 1280x960 Totally playable and stuff, I am pleased. (I haven't tried the -norestrictions thing yet, I can't max the texture resolution without it). EDIT: I tried using DOF to cover the jaggies. Turns out DOF is so horrible looking it makes the jaggies look good. JasonThummel
I played the ps3 version last night and I noticed that it too has that dithered shadowing. I guess its just more noticable up close on a monitor.

Rod6er
To the guy who asked about Independence FM. According to the manual it's just the same as previous GTAs with the radio. Basicall you just put your songs in a folder and can have: Sequential: Plays through the songs in order Shuffle: Plays through the songs at random Radio: Plays through the songs (maybe at random) but with radio ads and banta inbetween. My specs are: 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo 4870 512mb graphics card 4 gig ram Vista Ultimate 32 bit with Service Pack 1 That's a pretty decent rig. It shouldn't be producing screenshots like I've posted at only 20-25fps. dude you are probably maxing out your CPU like crazy, highest render + 100detail dist + 100trafficdensity + 16shadows w/ core 2 duo however strong it is = NOT GOOD! comon people use common sense, you cant max out the game if yo udont even meet recommended hardware config... Rickzu
Hummer vs taxi cab, who will survive? "Looks like someone had a little trouble parkin' their truck" (kudos to whoever gets the reference) I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that this is the best game I've ever played. Imageshack resized my images wrong again....I'm going to look into getting a photobucket account....

matthew1g
the wonders of a 1gb Dual GPU 4870x2. Now If only ATI enable Sideport Crossfire to let the card access 2gb I'd get rid of the rare " out of VRAM error". I'd reckon I could also get full view distance and reach the 1920/2560 resolutions. I cant understand why the game runs like a piece of crap on low settings ( I tried putting it to the same settings you use). I only get 5 FPS. The more I load up on GFX, the more FPS I get. at the settings shown above, I get a constant 35 FPS, save for when I get out of the safe house, in which it drops to 6 FPS for a few seconds until it loads the environment.
