Avean Posted December 1, 2008 Share Posted December 1, 2008 I have a friend that has gotten the game already (Preorder) and has confirmed that on the DVD there is dedicated serverfiles for communities to setup servers I have not gotten the requirements for the servers yet, but i can only imagine its massive considering physics and 32 players online at the same time. But this is good news, this makes it possible for clan wars to flourish and online communities to gather around this great game. This will be unbelieveable. Avean Posted December 1, 2008 Author Share Posted December 1, 2008 Yeah so you have a server that is online 24/7. Which is a big difference compared to consoles where the game ended when the host decided to eat dinner and unstable connection would ruin the overall experience. With a dedicated server you have a machine dedicating its power to this server, so the experience for you should be excellent all the time. And for clan wars you could setup your own private clanserver for members to practice on. So thats why so many of us wanted this, and i am glad Rockstar did it Unless my friend is joking then i will kill him ... I am asking for screenshots now and i will post as soon as i get them. I'm waiting for a more reliable source to confirm this, we've had people on this forum saying they're friend worked at nVidia or something and confirmed GTA IV PC would not come until 2010 or something ridiculous. Maybe he got the screens and then said to his mate, "you idiot! this doesn't prove anything .... " and ran under a rock "CONFIRMED" and "Coming in 1 or 2 minutes" are a sure fire way to get slated when you dont pull it out the hat for people. Remember that since BF1942 (yes more than 3 years ago) it has been possible with good results. Although not in a full city, there was/is a lot more to compesate for ?
