Reducing the CPU to 2.33GHz has no effect but reducing the GPU freq does, so it's GPU limited on my system.

Fraps reports >30 fps most of the time in game.

Everytime I put or take something out I attempt to defrag. Everyday I clean and run regseeker, remove temps etc. I didn't expect to run it on high at all. Im happy playing it @1024x768 on my old ass TV (RCA CRT). It really blows GTA:SA out of the water. The reason I do is because my 5.1 is in my living room. tounge.gif

This is what I get when gaming on my "old ass TV"

Still get 10-20 outside (Obvious CPU bottleneck cry.gif ) But inside i get a huge boost 20-40fps!

Also the microstutter is finally gone, so is the corruption with medium shaders.

I wish they would optimize this games physics and streaming system for older CPU's

Tried to run the benchmark with only 1g or ram. But, the option was missing in the menu(?). Did play it for awhile at the same settings. Ran like crap. 1-5 fps...dropped to less than 1 after executing the hotdog vendor.

Shadows have been disabled in the GTAIV options, because they don't seem to show any visible effect in my game.

There seems to be something wrong with the benchmark-duration. But it is very playable on my system when I add the command line which I have listed above, I barely get any problematic fps drops or slow downs (mostly just when it begins to rain). Pop ups apear only at the beginning after loading the game and then very occasionally. But keep in mind I'm not a hardcore gamer and I usually do not play the game longer then 2 hours straight.

Interesting thread, a lot of those claiming great performance seem to have worse results than me, and I'm disgusted with the performance.

Take special note of CPU usage in both results.

Actual CPU - E8600 @ 4,500MHz --- 4GB RAM

This translates to 30-70FPS in-game (90% of the time, it can creep sub 30 in heavy built up areas the other 10%, I'm being generous it's Christmas), until the rain starts up then 25FPS and then in the carwash anything as low as 17FPS.

Gotta say that amazing carwash scene, the physics, the AMAAAAZZING graphics, the single bland texture, the laggggggggggg

So the general rule is, anyone getting lower than 60FPS in the benchmark will be having a shockingly sh*t gaming experience and those claiming smooth gameplay at 40FPS benching and below are f*cking straight out liars or braindead morons with exceptionally low standards.

For amusement only, the results from my (Optimised for Vista 64...ahem) 64 Bit system are...

I never thought humanity would see the day where such realism was transferred to our humble home PCs.

Rejoice for the love of Jeebus for that day has now come.

Argh, this is very unplayable, I want a good FPS! angry.gif

...As you may see my "Video Driver" is not that good, I can download the latest and optimized driver for this game but it's funny that I don't really know how to install this nVidia driver. I know, Google is my friend but I don't get accurate answers there honestly. Can someone teach me how to update my drivers? lol biggrin.gif

Just install the new drivers directly. Just press next next next. I know u could use Driversweeper and things, but this always works for me.
