deathtoll
its not so bad. let me run some benchmarks in game, but this is running side by side because i have two monitors. I really don't understand why so many people have a problem running this game. its a little choppy sometimes, but only during the cutscenes for me. the rest of the game plays beautifully. i hope the patch will fix some things like gamepad support and graphics issues for other people, but for me, it is good. ALSO this runs good in vista! ASUS P5q SE/r mobo 2x2GB of DDR2 800MHz ASUS 8600GT 512MB NOT OVERCLOCKED, runs fine stock, im sure if i overclocked i could do better core2duo e8400 ALSO AT STOCK SPEED 3.0GHz (very nice chip for the price)

I don't think that 37 seconds of testing can prove or disprove anything. if it runs, it runs, if it doesnt, wait for the patch.
johncage
you know my fps is a consistent 37-40 range when i run the test but when actually playing it's like 10-20. that really isn't a very good benchmark. they should have it under a sun or something with lots of structures

deathtoll
for those of you wondering why GTA4 wont run well, its because you need more than 2GB of ram to run it. the .exe itself takes up 1.2GB of ram. add on what windows natively uses, EVEN XP you will notice you run out of ram fast. i have 2x2GB in dual channel mode so even though the OS isnt seeing more than 3.32GB or so, the added ram is worth $50 to upgrade right now.. for DDR2 800MHz or higher.. all i can say is, if you dropped cash on a computer instead of a video game system, the game will run, otherwise go play it on xbox or PS3, cause both of those versions were very awesome IMO, but you have to wonder why rockstar spent so much time with this one and what is actually new and unique to this version.. hope the patch fixes some stuff too. ALSO it seems like nvidia is the way to go with this game, at least for now, until the patch and or more drivers from AMD hopefully..
