I benched at my pc desk. I played a bit @ MAX and actually wasn't to bad, but if it got crazy around the way (many cars, explosions, etc) then it would bog like crazy. This game is awesome compared to GTA:SA (which I was playing before this). Bikes and cars take some time getting used to as well, but its all in good fun. Seeing as this is R* next-gen title (maybe not the only, but the only one I play)I understand and welcome the change. All in all its a great game...except for... The only thing I have negative to say about the game so far is the Pool mini game lol. I loved playing pool in GTA:SA. Was just fun as hell. Now not so much. They give the player leads on the next ball. Also the cue doesn't really have any movement. It hits a rail and stops...really annoys me. No money to gain from it either (yet). Anyway love this game can't ask for anything more after waiting for so long! Edit: Added 512 Superclocked also its an EVGA vid card. livilaNic
Everytime I put or take something out I attempt to defrag. Everyday I clean and run regseeker, remove temps etc. I didn't expect to run it on high at all. Im happy playing it @1024x768 on my old ass TV (RCA CRT). It really blows GTA:SA out of the water. The reason I do is because my 5.1 is in my living room. This is what I get when gaming on my "old ass TV" Statistics Average FPS: 37.68 Duration: 37.13 sec CPU Usage: 88% System memory usage: 76% Video memory usage: 85% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1024 x 768 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Render Quality: Very High View Distance: 45 Detail Distance: 45 Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Video Driver version: 178.24 Audio Adapter: SoundMAX HD Audio Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz I could up a few things, but its not really needed. It shows a few Faggio's chasing and shooting each other near Star Junction. The roads are empy, hardly any other car or pedestrians visible. Thus the results are way to optimistic. Ingame I'm lucky if the fps stays around 30. On certain spots the fps shoots up, like in a park. And sometimes the fps drops below 18 or worse. Check for yourself: http://i35.tinypic.com/28vylww.jpg 43 fps, in a park http://i34.tinypic.com/2myb7uf.jpg 18 fps, driving fast in the rain http://i35.tinypic.com/125nb7b.jpg 35 fps, overlooking the river towards Algonquin @ night It's playable and looks way beter then on my console. However, considering my hardware and video mode the game should perform much better so it basically sucks. vurt
How do you copy the statistics, didnt find any file with it in the GTA IV directory? I get 49 FPS average, 1680x1050, medium or high doesnt matter (very high on render settings didnt change FPS either). turned down the shadows though i think it's on "4". The benchmark is worthless though since it doesnt say anything about how the game performs, 49 FPS means i get around 16-26 FPS in-game, which means the benchmark would approx have to show 100 FPS average for a (imo) playable game.
