ArScAn
I'll post a benchie @3.6Ghz all maxed soon... But I just want to know if I buy more Ram from 4gb to 6gb, will GTA benefit from it? Will it use more than 4Gb to load or it has some kind of limit? Also because 896Mb from my GTX295 it's not enough I run it with commandlines -availablevidmem 1.6 and -novblank. With 1.6 it should take about 600-700Mb from my memory for video, right? 90% of load on my Ram inside the game is too high and maybe it's the reason for these fps drops I explained. I was monitoring memory load and when I start playing it's at 65%-70% but some time later it begins to increase till reach 90%! My CPU is always steady at 60-70% of load... E.R
VSync: Off <<< What does this even do? It locks your FPS to max 60 or whatever your refreshrate are. Manditory on multiGPU system to help prevent microstutter as it is most notisable above 60FPS and always present on multiGPU systems even 4870X2. Or it can be used to prevent tearing on LCD screens. Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX Video Driver version: 180.84 Audio Adapter: SigmaTel Audio Genuine Intel® CPU T2600 @ 2.16GHz -availablevidmem is the multiplier of your actual card's detected VRAM. So say it detects 512 then using -availablevidmem 2.0 will make it think you have 1024 of VRAM. For best results dont go silly with it as your card will feel the pain, I prefer to stay under 1.5 or lower. There is also the -percentvidmem that actually deals with the percentage of vidmem the game is allowed to use for the card, not a commonly used commandline at all. The_Cheese_Man
@ Mushi Update your video drivers. Uninstall your old ones, install Driver Sweeper ( http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/), run the laptop in safe mode, run the sweeper to remove old Nvidia and PhysX files. Then go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and download the 181.06 drivers, or better yet the Dox optimised 185.05 ones. You should see an increase in FPS. I just had a look at CPUz ID and it says rated FSB is 1066, now dose this mean i can increase my FSB to above 100 without changeing the mobo cpu voltages.
