Damn I downloaded Cleo, but it causes the game to crash, and the game is version 1 mercie_blink.gif . You know something I can do so the game does not crash when I to start it?

 

Also when I fix this problem, I will become adicted to made up missions. This mod is one of the best ever made

umm their are files called fxt that are used to display custom text by cleo files. You have to download the FXT Editor from http://www.sannybuilder.com then edit the fxt file then you put the fxt file in the CLEO/CLEO_TExt folder. But you have to make the cleo file to show the text. turn.gif

We're aware of that, but it is the same problem as with gxt files.

 

We don't want to make up new texts ourself, (that would be no problem). But we want the users of the mod to be able to create and display new texts.

im having a problem. in the menu, when i select an option, the menu stays the same but its supposed to change. and where am i supposed to put DYOM3.dat?

That goes into your Gta San Andreas user files. C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER ACCOUNT NAME HERE\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files

my bad i realized that a minute ago.

ok so i loaded archeys mission (very nice btw) and then i didnt have the menu problem, but if i start a new one the menu will show up when i prss 'y'. when i select settings, then settings menu is behind the main menu, and when i go up or down the main menu selector moves, but for the settings choices. when i exit the main menu screen stays and the selector moves, but it doesnt work, obviously. when i press 'y' again to open the menu the first selcetion is dark and the rest are highlighted, the selector wont move and when i selct, the game crashes.

 

sorry for the novel but im a tad fusterated

The music is 'Immortal Technique ft (alot of people) - Tell The Truth.

 

This is my latest mission, been working on it alot more than I worked on the previous one.

You can release your mission on LSRP (whereever that is tounge.gif ), but please don't distribute the modification itself.

Instead link here, so that we will be able to distribute updates more easily.

If you select "actors->add actor" from the main-Menu ( press "Y" ), than you can add as many actors as you like.. (at least upto 100 in the current version)

A feature i would like to see would be one where u can go through and pick which objectives to delete. because sometime you want to delete an unwanted one but then u have to delete all the others to get to it.

How about adding your own subtitles? Like instead of "kill the person" it would say "<kill/assasinate/murder> <the person>/<name>"

For example:

"Assassinate the president"

or

"Murder Adam" or something.

And also,

adding a time limit AFTER you hit a certain check point would be kick ass. Either adding to the time left or starting the time limit from the moment when the checkpoint is reached!

 

How about adding an enemy car that will chase you with enemys in it shooting at you? And when you stop they get out! That would be awesome. I tried to remake the first mission of GTA IV and it went well. But some nice subtitles would be awesome. Instead of just:

"Get to the checkpoint"

and

"Get to the next checkpoint"

Custom subtitles is something that is very high on our own wishlist too. But we haven't be able to pull that one of yet. We will surely keep trying to achieve that in a coming version.

 

What we have planned for the next version, is a timelimit per objective.

 

A chasing car with enemies will be a bit hard to implement in a generic way. but we will consider it as a future extension.

we found a method to input, store and display custom text, which we plan to use to make objective descriptions configurable. But before we go ahead, we would like to make sure that this method works for various exe versions.

 

This is where we ask for your help.

We made some demo code, we would like you to test.

 

Pre-conditions: CLEO3 and "Design your own mission" must be installed

 

We created a small src.scm file.

This is a replacement for "San Andreas User Files/MPACK/MPACK5/scr.scm"

(be sure to make a backup from the original file to restore it after this test)

 

Test description

When you now start San Andreas and select "New Game->Design your Own mission", you should be placed inside a club.

1) A textbox should appear that promps you to type your first text, just type anything and press enter.

2) You should now be prompted to type a second text, again type and press enter.

3) Now a text box should appear with the message that it reads back the first text from the file, and the first text you entered should be displayed in a new textbox.

 

If that all worked, the test is successful.

 

Please report the results here, along with the version of your exe (if known).

 

P.S. during textinput you should be able to enter: a-zA-Z0-9,.<space><backspace>

Tested:

When I tryed first time my game crashed after I entered second text, than I tryed second time, and everything was working.

I entered first text, than second and pressed ENTER, than it showed me back the text I typed, after that, MISSION PASSED. So I guess it run's correctly.

Oh, and Patrick, like he said in this post, could you try to make a system so we can decide which actor/car/objective/pickup etc we want to delete? I mean, I tried to make a brawling script at first, but when I realized they had too much health I had to delete ALL actors just do edit them. (There were more actors added, yeah.)

 

It'd be much easier to make missions then.

~ how would I make an objective to be to drive a car to a destination?

 

can you give me some pointers? cuz the ingame menu is pretty sketchy and I'm not sure my intentions would be satisfied

Go to Objectives in the main menu, then select Add Actor.

He holds his position, but attacks immidiatly. Normally they only attack when you're in their sight.

Add the car through the objective menu, the player is than required to enter the car. If you make the next objective a checkpoint, the player has to drive there. There currently isn't a check that he uses the same car, but for most missions that irrelevant.

Hopefully the explanation above (about objectives) has made the menu layout a bit clearer. If you stil have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask them.

Uhm. I didn't see you answering this old question;

I don't know how you really create these codes, but uhm. The cops in Single Player must have some sort of script when they follow you... Can that help out in any way?

The cops behaviour is hard coded, that's not scripted, but chasing cars can be created by SCM.

We put it on our list, but it's not the highest priority at the moment.

There should be a way to cycle through the objectives to place a pickup or actor inbetween them instead of after the last one, much more needed than text

Anyways I made a mission (sorry for beign almost imposible, I couldn't put an armour/health inbetween, recomended to start with armour (otherwise it's imposible)

Tips: Leave the health pickup in one of the first bathrooms for when you have almost no health, try to be ALWAYS covered and they will come out to get you, with the pistol (desert eagle) and Mac-10 (Micro-Uzi) Try to get headshots, however when you get the Shotgun, you'll be able to kill in 2 shots to the body >:D

Story:

You are an Ex-Mafia guy, you were walking lonely when you got a call from a friend, it seems a guy that once tried to kill you is going to meet a local gang in the motel.

You go there and prepare to make your way thru the gangbangers and await for his bodyguards and him to come, good luck.
