yes it is possible, actually the default missions player is CJ, if you want to change of character you do, if you dont want to, you play as CJ

But how can i do?

I tried to be Cj in my own mission,but i dont found CJ in the list.

You said that "if you want to change of character you do, if you dont want to, you play as CJ",but if i dont select the player option in the Mission menu,where is the location i will spawn ?

If you dont understand,can you make a tutorial ?

EDIT: oh now i get your point, i think you spawn at Groove Street ... never tried to be cj in a mission tough :S

I tried too to not touch the player option,but i dont get CJ,I get another guy whit a white coat,and i spawn in the groove street.But i want to spawn in another place.help

Playing the mission as CJ (or any of the special characters in the game) is not supported in this version.

Well to prove it is possible view screen number one for the Collectibles mission and screen number 2 for the Parkour against time mission

Difficulty on my opinion:

Money Rush(Slot 2): 9/10 (My record: 00:00 Seconds left)

Parkour Time(Slot 8):7/10 (My record: 00:10 Seconds left)

Hi,

 

I really like the mod. I've always wanted something simular to this.

 

However, I seems I'm missing something.

I tried to create the scenario of you and your 'homie' returning home from the liquor store. On the way, you pass through an alley as a shortcut. When you reach the alley, you notice a balla member guarding it with a bat. You approach him and he tell you to go away. You glance down the alley, trying to figure out what's wrong, and spot one of your homies being questioned by 2 other balla members and a drug dealer further down.

 

Now, I created 5 actors. 2 of the balla members, 1 balla as the one guarding, one as the grove member getting beaten up and another one acting as the 'homie' following you. The drug dealer is an objective, since you're supposed to kill him and the rest. I also added a baseball bat pickup by the balla guard, so you can use it to beat the sh*t out of the drug dealer and balla members. Still. When I try to play the game, I just spawn at the beginning of the alley, with no homie. There's no balla guarding the alley, and there's no ballas down the alley. Just the friend getting beaten up and the drug dealer. I set the beaten up friend so he'll have to survive, and everytime I kill the drug dealer I just complete the mission without even having the balla members spawned.

 

I got no clue on how to code this so they'll all spawn at the same time. Anyone feeling like helping?

First of all, thanks to everybody for the feedback and compliments, It's appreciated very much.

 

@nuttybutty:

Most likely you added the actors and the pickups after you've defined your objective.

 

In that case, those actors and pickups will only appear in the mission after that objective has been passed. But if it is the last objective of your mission, than the mission is passed at the same time, and the actors and pickups won't appear at all.

 

Actors and pickups that should spawn from the start of the mission should be defined before any of the objective.

Otherwise they will only spawn after the most recently added objective has been passed in the mission.

Here are three of the missions I made:

First: You have to get your money before the swat picks it up! It won't be easy! You will have to race to the mountain in the Phoenix. You will then have to get in the monster truck to get over the mountain! The package will be in sight pick it up! You will then have to battle with the swat member but he has a lot of health!

 

Second:Monster Truck Madness! You have to drive over the cars!

 

Last: NRG500 Crazy Stunt! You are in the airport and have to pull a crazy stunt! You have to jump on the big ramp truck,cross the trains,and land in the checkpoint! It will be hard! (Well kind of.) Download Them Here: DOWNLOAD THEM HERE!

1) Currently this mod focusses on designing and playing missions, where money isn't of any importance. This may be something that we will consider in the future.

2) This is something we will look into, and will hopefully be available in the next version

3) This is something we want ourself very bad, but we haven't been able to figure out an elegant solution to do this.

 

 

Some other things that are planned for the next version:

  • Special Actors ( as player and actors)
  • Objects (barricades, ramps, ... )
  • Editing of already defined items
  • Timed missions
  • More types of checkpoints
  • Moving enemy/friendly vehicles

Im not sure how mission pack coding works so dont blame me if it dosent work but i think you could add like a custom text line. Like the mission pack has those text pop ups. and those were made with custom text lines right? or were they made the same way the scripting was? but if they were made with custom text lines you could associate a text line to be made with objectives. Like when you place an objective it allows you to put custom text or leave it default. and when it's made a seperate file is made so it stores the text. Im not sure how you would be able to type though. Cause im not sure if you can have a basic keyboard type thing were you just press the keys on the keyboard and they are writen. Or you could make something like a selection thing for chosing the car color or pedestrian. Also I think objects would be easy to place. They can be placed with a button press in normal scripting. So it's already possible to do it.

The entry of the text is not the biggest problem, that is solvable since with CLEO almost all keys on the keyboard can be used. The main problem is to display the texts during the game. Normally any text that is displayed comes from a gxt file.

 

But getting custom texts in there through an ingame interface is a problem.

 

There are some methods to display non-gxt text, but they depend on calling functions in the .exe, and this seems to be highly dependable on the .exe version that is used. Thus as far as I know it ain't reliable.

Ok. I didnt know how hard it was to make text show in game without a gtx file.

 

Also is it possible to record a route of a car somehow and spawn a car and play it back so the car drives on that route? cause ive seen some crazy stuff for SA. And if thats not possible how about setting waypoints for the car to follow? like you put a chack point, the car drives to it and stops. but if you put more then 1 it follows the check points untill it gets to the end. Cause in races the other guys always take the route of the check points.

umm their are files called fxt that are used to display custom text by cleo files. You have to download the FXT Editor from http://www.sannybuilder.com then edit the fxt file then you put the fxt file in the CLEO/CLEO_TExt folder. But you have to make the cleo file to show the text. turn.gif

Also when I fix this problem, I will become adicted to made up missions. This mod is one of the best ever made

umm their are files called fxt that are used to display custom text by cleo files. You have to download the FXT Editor from http://www.sannybuilder.com then edit the fxt file then you put the fxt file in the CLEO/CLEO_TExt folder. But you have to make the cleo file to show the text. turn.gif

We're aware of that, but it is the same problem as with gxt files.

 

We don't want to make up new texts ourself, (that would be no problem). But we want the users of the mod to be able to create and display new texts.

my bad i realized that a minute ago.

ok so i loaded archeys mission (very nice btw) and then i didnt have the menu problem, but if i start a new one the menu will show up when i prss 'y'. when i select settings, then settings menu is behind the main menu, and when i go up or down the main menu selector moves, but for the settings choices. when i exit the main menu screen stays and the selector moves, but it doesnt work, obviously. when i press 'y' again to open the menu the first selcetion is dark and the rest are highlighted, the selector wont move and when i selct, the game crashes.

 

sorry for the novel but im a tad fusterated

Alright, I've made this at the moment. I stopped working on this mission though.

 

The music is 'Immortal Technique ft (alot of people) - Tell The Truth.

 

This is my latest mission, been working on it alot more than I worked on the previous one.

 

Patrick, or Dutchy, I wanted to release this mission on LSRP (with credits and link to this topic included, of course), permission? smile.gif

Instead link here, so that we will be able to distribute updates more easily.
